Termination at both physical ends of a Modbus Plus daisy-chain network
Used with 170XTS02000 T-connectors to complete network topology
Compatible with Modicon Momentum, Quantum, and Premium PLCs
Industrial automation cabinets, process control, and manufacturing lines
6. Installation Steps
Power off the entire Modbus Plus network before installation.
Mount the terminator on a DIN rail or directly on the panel.
Locate the last node at each end of the MB+ bus.
Plug the network RJ45 cable into the RJ45 port of 170XTS02100.
Ensure no other device is connected to the free end of the bus.
Power on the network and verify communication with PLC software.
7. Maintenance
Inspect the RJ45 connector periodically for dirt, corrosion, or bent pins.
Keep the housing clean and dry; avoid conductive dust buildup.
Check cable strain relief; avoid tight bends near the connector.
Replace the unit if the housing is cracked or contacts are damaged.
8. Safety Instructions
Installation and service must be performed by qualified electricians.
Disconnect all power before wiring or modifying the network.
Do not use beyond rated voltage, temperature, or humidity limits.
Avoid exposure to liquids, corrosive gases, or explosive atmospheres.
9. Troubleshooting
No communication / intermittent errors:
Confirm terminator is installed at both ends of the bus.
Check RJ45 cable seating; reseat if loose.
Verify no extra terminators in the middle of the network.
Signal reflection / data errors:
Ensure only two terminators (one at each end) are present.
Check cable length and topology per Modbus Plus guidelines.
