7200-SERIES

The 7200-SERIES (Bently 7200 series) is the second generation TSI (Turbo-Supercharged Instrumentation) system launched by Bently Nevada (now part of GE) in the 1980s to 1990s. It is used for vibration, displacement, differential expansion, speed protection and monitoring of key units in power plants, petrochemicals, metallurgy, etc. It has been completely discontinued and only spare parts are available in the market, having been replaced by the 3500 series.

Description

I. System Positioning and Overview

Positioning: An updated version of the classic TSI, positioned between the first-generation 3300 series and the modern 3500 series.

Status: The original factory has been out of production for ≥ 15 years. It is only available in second-hand, refurbished, or inventory spare parts circulation.

Architecture: 19-inch standard chassis (7200/05), half-height modules (single slot), -24VDC backplane power supply.

Core Features: Analog + Digital Hybrid, Local Display / Keys, RS-232 Serial Configuration, No Ethernet, No Transient Waveform Acquisition (TDI).

II. Core Card Models (All the ones you asked about are here)

1. Display / Communication / Interface Card

72027-03F: 7200 Series Display Module (RIM), LED Digital Tube + Keys, RS-232 Serial Port, Local Display / Configuration / Alarm, Rack "Human-Machine Interface".

2. Monitoring Cards (Vibration / Displacement / Differential Expansion)

72052-01: 4-Channel Shaft Vibration Monitoring Card (RV), Measuring Shaft Vibration / Watt Vibration, 4–20mA Output, Alarm / Hazard Relay.

72053-01: 4-Channel Axial Displacement / Differential Expansion Monitoring Card (DVTP), Measuring Thrust Disk Position, Differential Expansion, 4–20mA Output.

7203953-01: 3500/40M (4-Channel Displacement) - Not part of the 7200 series, it is the upgraded card for the 3500 series.

7203954-01: 3500/42M (4-Channel Vibration + Displacement) - Not part of the 7200 series.

3. Sensor System (7200 Proximity)

Probes: 7200-21508 (5mm/8mm/14mm Eddy Current Probes) Preamplifier: 18745-04 (5mm) / 18745-02 (8mm), -24VDC Power Supply, Output **–4 to –20V** Gap Voltage.

Spares and Upgrade Suggestions

Spare Parts Procurement: The 7200 series is scarce, expensive, and has many refurbished items. We should prioritize sourcing original factory components or those that are tested and in good condition. Pay attention to matching the **firmware version (e.g. - 03F)**.

Upgrade Path:

Minor Changes: The 7200 rack remains, and the cards are gradually replaced with those from the 3500 series (requiring a conversion board).

Major Changes: Replace the entire system with 3500/05 racks and 3500 series cards. The sensors can continue to use the 7200 probe / preamplifier (compatible with 3500).
