With robust industrial design, wide temperature tolerance and strong EMC performance, it ensures stable and safe operation under harsh field conditions.

General Description

The WOODWARD 5405-819 is a microprocessor‑based digital governor system designed to start, stop, control and protect industrial turbines and engines. It features a high‑speed CPU, 64 MB memory, 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, supporting high‑frequency speed signals (500–12000 Hz) and analog setpoints (4–20 mA / 1–5 Vdc). The controller provides isochronous (zero droop) and droop control modes for grid‑parallel or isolated operation, with built‑in overspeed protection, speed limiting, startup fuel ramping and comprehensive fault diagnostics. It communicates via Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP or PROFIBUS DP to DCS and other Woodward controllers (e.g., 505/505E/Atlas). The unit operates on 24 VDC ±10% power, adopts a compact rail‑mount enclosure, and withstands wide temperature and vibration environments.

Main Features

  1. High‑precision digital governor for turbines, engines and generator sets

  2. 16DI / 16DO + 64 MB high‑speed memory for logic and I/O expansion

  3. Dual control modes: isochronous (zero droop) and droop (load sharing)

  4. Speed input: 500–12000 Hz; analog setpoint: 4–20 mA / 1–5 Vdc

  5. Multi‑protocol communication: Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS DP

  6. Built‑in overspeed trip, high/low speed limit and startup fuel limiting

  7. Comprehensive fault monitoring, alarm and self‑diagnosis functions

  8. 24 VDC ±10% power supply; operating temperature -10 °C to +60 °C

  9. Compact rail‑mount design; industrial EMC, shock and vibration resistance
