General Description
The WOODWARD 5403-978 is a microprocessor-based programmable I/O and control module designed to extend and enhance prime mover control systems. It features a high-speed CPU, 64 MB memory, 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, providing flexible signal acquisition, logic interlock and drive control for industrial turbines and gensets. The module supports Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP and PROFIBUS DP protocols for easy connection to host systems and other Woodward devices. It operates on 24 VDC power, offers a wide temperature range of -10 °C to +60 °C, and adopts a compact panel-mount enclosure with high shock and vibration resistance.
