1. General Description

• C suffix: Conformal coating for humid, dusty, corrosive environments (coated PCB).

• Function: Connects Quantum backplane to remote DIO stations via serial link; supports redundant ring communication.

• Key Difference from 140CRA21220: Conformal coated (harsh environment version).

• Key Difference from 140CRA21210C: 24 VDC (not AC) + 2 DIO ports (not 1).

7. Installation & Wiring

7.1 Mounting

1. Power OFF the Quantum rack.

2. Insert module into any single‑slot position.

3. Latch and tighten screw.

7.2 DC Power Wiring (24 VDC)

• +24 V: Positive

• 0 V: Ground

• Wire size: 0.75–2.5 mm²

• Warning: Verify polarity and voltage before powering ON.

7.3 DIO Communication Wiring (Dual Ports)

• Connect shielded twisted pair to PORT1 and PORT2 (7‑pole terminal blocks).

• Shield: Ground at one end only (PE).

• Redundant mode: Dual‑port ring for fault‑tolerant communication.

8. Configuration (Unity Pro)

1. Add 140CRA21220C in hardware catalog.

2. Set DIO address (1–63).

3. Enable redundancy (dual‑port ring).

4. Assign I/O map: 30 In / 32 Out words.

5. Download configuration to PLC.

9. Operation & LED Status

• PWR ON: Module powered.

• COM Blinking: Data exchange active.

• ERR Steady Red: Communication loss / remote drop fault.

• ERR Flashing: Address conflict / config mismatch.

• PORT1 / PORT2 Green: Link up on respective port.
