4. Installation

4.1 Rack Mounting

  1. Mount the T8240 into a standard 19” rack using 4 × M5 screws.

  2. Ensure ≥100 mm front and rear clearance for airflow.

  3. Connect chassis PE ground to system earth (single-point ground).

4.2 Power Pack Insertion (Hot‑Swap Enabled)

  1. Remove the T8235 blanking plate from an empty slot.

  2. Align the T8231/T8232 with the shelf guides and push firmly until fully seated.

  3. Secure the front latch.

  4. Repeat for second/third modules (2 units for standard redundancy).

  5. Confirm PWR and OK LEDs on each power pack are steady green.

4.3 AC Wiring

  • Input: 110 / 240 V AC (auto‑sensing, 50/60 Hz) per power pack (IEC C14 rear connector)

  • Cable: 14–18 AWG stranded, 3‑conductor (L/N/PE)

  • Redundancy: Dual independent AC feeds recommended (separate circuits)

  • Ground: PE to chassis earth; field ground isolated from system ground

4.4 DC Output

  • The T8240 backplane automatically distributes redundant 24/28 V DC to the T8100/T8300 I/O backplane.

  • No user DC wiring required (internal backplane connection).

5. Front Panel Indicators (on T823x Power Packs)

  • PWR (Green): Steady = AC input OK; Flashing = AC input fault

  • OK (Green): Steady = TMR health OK; Flashing = Single internal circuit fault

  • FAULT (Red): On = Overvoltage / Overcurrent / Overtemperature; Flashing = Isolation fault

  • READY (Yellow): On = DC output active and stable

6. Operation & Redundancy

  • Normal Operation: 2 or 3 power packs operate in parallel current-sharing mode, load balanced.

  • Single Pack Fault: Faulty unit is automatically isolated; remaining packs carry 100 % load (N+1 redundancy).

  • Hot Swap: Replace faulty packs online; system remains operational during swap.

  • Diagnostics: Voltage, current, and temperature monitored continuously; faults logged to system alarm list.

7. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

7.1 Routine Maintenance

  • Quarterly: Inspect seating, latch tightness, LED status.

  • Annually: Clean with dry lint-free cloth; check AC cable torque and connections.

7.2 Common Faults

  • PWR LED Off: Check AC input (110/240 V AC); reseat module; check circuit breaker.

  • FAULT LED On: Overvoltage/overcurrent/overtemperature via diagnostics; reduce load; check for short circuits.

  • OK LED Flashing: Single TMR circuit fault; replace at next scheduled maintenance.

  • Excessive Heat: Check ambient temperature; verify airflow; clean vents.

8. Safety & Compliance

  • Install only in Trusted T8100/T8300 chassis environment.

  • Disconnect AC before wiring (except hot-swap replacement).

  • Use shielded AC cables; comply with IEC 61000‑6‑2/4.

  • Certifications: CE, UL, CSA, IEC 61508 SIL 3, TÜV certified.

9. Ordering Information
