Pin Definition

Pin 1 is ground terminal.
Pin 2 is motor output terminal 1.
Pin 3 is speed control voltage input terminal.
Pin 4 is logic control input 1 for forward and brake signal control.
Pin 5 is logic control input 2 for reverse and brake signal control.
Pin 6 is internal signal power supply terminal.
Pin 7 is motor power supply terminal.
Pin 8 is motor output terminal 2.

Working Logic

When both control input pins are low level, the motor enters braking state.
When control input 1 is high level and control input 2 is low level, the motor runs forward.
When control input 1 is low level and control input 2 is high level, the motor runs in reverse.
When both control input pins are high level, the chip enters standby state and the motor stops working.

Absolute Maximum Ratings

The maximum rated supply voltage of power supply and signal supply is 14V.
Single channel maximum output drive current is 800mA.
Normal operating temperature range is from minus 25 degrees Celsius to 75 degrees Celsius.
Storage temperature range is from minus 55 degrees Celsius to 150 degrees Celsius.

Electrical Characteristics

Under standard test conditions, the typical standby current is 6.5mA.
The output saturation voltage is low, which can reduce power loss during motor operation.
The typical thermal protection shutdown temperature is 165 degrees Celsius.

Application Circuit Description

Connect pin 7 motor power supply to 7V to 12V DC power supply.
Connect pin 6 signal power supply to 5V standard DC voltage.
Pin 1 is connected to system ground.
Pin 2 and pin 8 are directly connected to both ends of the DC motor.
Pin 3 accesses 0 to 5V adjustable voltage to realize motor speed regulation.
Pin 4 and pin 5 are connected to MCU logic IO port to control forward, reverse and brake functions.
