Description

Mitsubishi HF‑SP3524B Synchronous Servo Motor Product Description

Overview

Mitsubishi HF‑SP3524B is a medium‑inertia permanent magnet synchronous servo motor of the Mitsubishi MELSERVO‑J3 HF‑SP series, 3.5 kW, 400 V voltage class, equipped with built‑in electromagnetic holding brake. This Mitsubishi servo motor is designed to match MR‑J3‑700A / MR‑J3‑700B servo amplifiers for high‑precision position, speed and torque closed‑loop control. HF‑SP3524B is a widely stocked legacy motion component, commonly used for machine retrofitting and spare‑part replacement of existing J3 servo systems.

Features

Mitsubishi HF‑SP3524B synchronous servo motor adopts medium rotor inertia design for stable operation under heavy and fluctuating load conditions. This Mitsubishi servo motor carries a high‑resolution incremental encoder, with IP67 protection grade and self‑cooled structure for workshop environments with dust and splash. HF‑SP3524B integrates an electromagnetic holding brake for vertical axis load retention when power is cut off. The Mitsubishi servo motor supports high dynamic response and frequent cyclic acceleration and deceleration. It can work with pulse command, SSCNETⅢ and CC‑Link interface MR‑J3 drives.

Principle

Mitsubishi HF‑SP3524B synchronous servo motor receives three‑phase PWM power and motion commands from the matched MR‑J3 servo amplifier. The permanent magnet synchronous rotor rotates under the rotating magnetic field generated by the stator winding. The encoder feeds rotor position and speed back to the drive to form a high‑speed closed loop for accurate positioning and speed regulation. When the servo enable signal is removed, the built‑in holding brake locks the shaft mechanically. The drive monitors motor current and winding temperature for overcurrent, overspeed and overheat protection.

Applications

Mitsubishi HF‑SP3524B synchronous servo motor is widely deployed in injection molding machines, gantry handling systems, large packaging lines, metal processing equipment and automatic assembly machinery. This Mitsubishi servo motor is selected for heavy‑duty feeding, pressing, indexing and synchronous conveying tasks. HF‑SP3524B fits equipment maintenance and spare replacement of legacy MELSERVO‑J3 HF‑SP brake‑type servo motors.

Installation & Maintenance Notes

Follow official Mitsubishi MELSERVO‑J3 hardware manuals during installation of Mitsubishi HF‑SP3524B servo motor. Align the coupling carefully to avoid radial and axial overload on the bearing and encoder. Use shielded Mitsubishi power and encoder cables and ensure good grounding for EMC performance. Test brake release and holding function separately for vertical axis applications. Periodically check bearing noise, connector tightness and cable abrasion under high‑cycle operation. Back up servo gain parameters before replacement. Confirm exact part number HF‑SP3524B before spare‑part swap‑out to verify encoder type, brake function and compatibility with the existing MR‑J3 amplifier.
