Woodward 5453-750 MicroNet CPU Processor Module
Woodward 5453-750 is a core hot-swappable CPU processor card for the MicroNet distributed turbine control platform, installed in MicroNet series standard chassis slots to undertake overall logic operation, signal calculation and task scheduling of the whole control system. This processor board matches steam turbines, gas turbines and large compressor control systems in thermal power plants, petrochemical captive power stations and waste heat power industries. It processes collected speed, pressure, valve position analog signals and switch quantity interlock signals, executes speed regulation, extraction pressure control, safety interlock protection and fault diagnosis algorithms, and realizes data interaction with each I/O board through the backplane bus, as well as data upload and remote configuration with upper DCS system via external communication interfaces.
Description
Developed and manufactured in accordance with Woodward high-reliability power industry safety standards, the 5453-750 adopts a standard VME plug-in metal shielding shell with high mechanical strength and anti-vibration performance, adapting to long-term vibration disturbance generated by on-site turbine units and pump equipment. The internal circuit board is coated with high-temperature resistant waterproof and anti-corrosion conformal paint; all backplane gold fingers and external wiring terminals adopt gold-plated anti-oxidation treatment, effectively avoiding poor contact and signal drift caused by cabinet moisture, dust accumulation and long-term temperature alternating aging. Multi-layer shielding structures are laid inside the module to isolate electromagnetic interference from high-voltage power distribution cabinets, frequency converters and high-power rotating equipment, ensuring stable operation of core computing chips under complex industrial electromagnetic environments. The module uses 24VDC power supply, with operating ambient temperature ranging from -20℃ to 70℃ and humidity resistance up to 95% non-condensing state, adapting to the severe working conditions of turbine local control cabinets and central control rooms. It integrates multiple hardware protection mechanisms such as overvoltage, overcurrent, reverse power connection and bus signal loss alarm. When internal operation abnormalities or external bus faults occur, the module will lock the control output state and feed back fault codes to the upper monitoring system to prevent unit misoperation.
The front panel is equipped with status indicator lamps, RS232 debugging interface, Ethernet communication port and memory card slot. Engineers can download control programs, modify control parameters and view real-time operating data through dedicated configuration software. The built-in high-speed industrial processor supports TMR triple modular redundant configuration, meeting the SIL safety level requirements of key turbine safety control loops. It is responsible for core functions including turbine speed closed-loop regulation, extraction/back pressure linkage control, unit emergency trip logic, historical fault data recording and real-time operating data caching. It realizes high-speed data transmission with analog input/output, digital I/O and communication boards through the backplane bus, and supports hot swapping under non-shutdown state of the system, greatly improving the continuous operation safety of units that are not allowed to stop arbitrarily. The physical size is unified with other functional boards of the MicroNet series, realizing standardized cabinet layout and unified spare parts management for users.
Each finished 5453-750 processor module passes strict factory tests including bus communication reliability test, high-low temperature cyclic aging test, anti-electromagnetic interference test and long-term full-load continuous operation stability test, maintaining ultra-low failure rate in the whole service life cycle. This product is widely used in the hardware configuration of newly-built MicroNet turbine control systems, replacement of damaged CPU boards during unit operation, upgrading and reconstruction of old Woodward control systems and enterprise spare parts backup management. Daily maintenance cost is low; maintenance personnel only need to regularly clean the surface dust of the module and check the plug-in fastening state under normal operation conditions, without frequent disassembly and calibration work. With powerful computing capability, stable bus communication performance and high safety redundancy design, Woodward 5453-750 is the core main control hardware of global energy industry MicroNet control systems, providing reliable core operation support for long-term safe and stable operation of various turbine and compressor control equipment.
