Woodward 5441-695 Dual Extraction 505E Digital Turbine Governor

Woodward 5441-695 is a panel-mounted microprocessor digital governor within the 5441 product series, developed based on the mature 505E digital control platform, specially matched for dual-extraction condensing steam turbine generator sets in petrochemical captive power plants, waste heat recovery power stations and municipal centralized heating systems. The controller collects real-time turbine rotational speed pulse signals, dual extraction pressure feedback values and multi-channel valve position feedback signals, and outputs high-precision analog driving signals to multiple electro-hydraulic servo actuators to realize coordinated regulation of the main steam valve and two groups of extraction valves. Equipped with local menu parameter configuration function and independent RS232 & RS422 Modbus RTU communication interfaces, it realizes full-process automatic control including unit start-stop sequence management, constant speed stabilization, constant dual extraction pressure regulation, active load adjustment, load rejection oscillation suppression and overspeed trip interlock protection, building stable triple closed-loop control logic for industrial dual-extraction turbine operating systems.

Description

Designed and manufactured in strict accordance with Woodward global power-grade industrial control reliability standards, the 5441-695 adopts an integrated sealed metal panel housing with high structural rigidity and excellent anti-vibration performance, adapting to long-term periodic vibration transmitted by turbine rotors during continuous unit operation. All internal printed circuit boards are coated with high-temperature resistant anti-corrosion conformal coating, while all wiring terminals adopt gold-plated anti-oxidation treatment to avoid equipment performance degradation caused by moisture erosion, dust accumulation and long-term thermal aging inside closed electrical cabinets. The built-in multi-layer composite electromagnetic shielding framework effectively isolates electromagnetic interference generated by high-voltage power distribution cabinets, frequency converters and large rotating mechanical equipment, eliminating common defects such as control parameter drift and actuator response lag under complex industrial electromagnetic environments. The rated working temperature ranges from 0°C to 60°C under non-condensing humidity conditions, supporting 24-hour uninterrupted stable operation in thermal control rooms, chemical production workshops and industrial steam supply control cabinets. Multiple embedded hardware protection modules including overvoltage cut-off, overcurrent lockout, reverse wiring prevention and signal loss alarm will rapidly cut off abnormal output loops once electrical faults occur, effectively protecting core main control chips and high-value external servo actuators from permanent damage induced by instantaneous voltage surges.
The front human-machine operation panel is equipped with a two-line 24-character LCD display and physical function keys. Hierarchical menu configuration logic greatly reduces the operation and maintenance learning threshold for field commissioning and maintenance technicians. Optimized triple-loop PID control algorithms are solidified inside the controller to implement synchronous linkage regulation of rotational speed and dual extraction pressure simultaneously. It integrates abundant practical functional modules including configurable overspeed safety protection threshold, acceleration & deceleration slope limitation, soft loading and unloading logic, upper and lower limit interlock for two extraction pressures, emergency shutdown protection as well as historical fault data recording and query functions. These functional modules effectively restrain drastic fluctuations of turbine speed and extraction pressure during sudden load changes and working condition switching, significantly improving the overall operational safety redundancy of dual-extraction turbine units. The panel installation dimensions are fully unified with the general specifications of the whole 5441 series products, supporting standardized centralized layout installation inside cabinets and fast plug-and-play replacement during system maintenance and equipment upgrading. Dense screw terminals on the rear panel adopt spring clamping structures to maintain stable electrical connection under long-term unit operating vibration, eliminating hidden hazards such as poor contact and intermittent control failure. Field maintenance personnel can complete wiring inspection, parameter calibration and module replacement with conventional hand tools, obviously shortening unit outage maintenance duration and reducing economic losses brought by equipment shutdown overhauls.
Each finished 5441-695 governor passes comprehensive standardized factory verification tests including triple closed-loop control precision calibration, simulated grid load disturbance test, high-low temperature cyclic aging test and long-duration continuous operation stability monitoring, maintaining an ultra-low failure rate throughout the full service lifecycle. This controller is widely applied in the construction of newly-built dual-extraction turbine control systems, digital transformation of traditional mechanical hydraulic governors, emergency replacement of faulty field control equipment and daily spare parts inventory management. Daily maintenance workload is relatively low; operators only need to clean surface dust regularly and check terminal fastening tightness without frequent professional calibration or complex parameter debugging tasks. Reserved serial communication ports realize bidirectional data interaction with upper DCS monitoring platforms based on the Modbus protocol, meeting the intelligent remote monitoring and data management demands of modern industrial power systems. With sensitive dynamic governing response speed, comprehensive multi-level safety interlock framework and superior environmental adaptability, Woodward 5441-695 has become standardized matching control hardware for global thermal power, petrochemical and waste heat utilization enterprises, providing stable and reliable core control guarantee for safe, stable and high-efficiency operation of various dual-extraction turbine generator sets.
