Emerson Ovation 5A26137G03 Rack Secondary Power Distribution Module

The 5A26137G03 is an original plug-in power distribution accessory for Emerson Ovation DCS control racks; the suffix G03 stands for upgraded hardware revision with factory full-load aging calibration and reliability verification. It works with rack redundant main power supplies to implement DC secondary branching, independent channel fusing, real-time power monitoring and fault signal upload inside the cabinet. It distributes isolated DC working power to DPU controllers, all types of I/O electronic modules and matched termination bases separately. Each power branch has independent protection and state detection, supports hot-swap maintenance under dual redundant power running conditions, and is a critical power distribution component of standard Ovation control cabinets, widely applied in thermal power, petrochemical, metallurgy and other continuous process industries.

Description

1. Overview

This module adopts standard Ovation rack plug-in mechanical structure, fully compatible with standard rack backplane slots. The stable DC power output from redundant main power supplies is fed into this distribution module and split into multiple electrically independent output branches. Each branch is equipped with replaceable fuses, voltage & current sampling circuits and status feedback loops, supplying power to designated rack slots, DPUs and I/O assemblies. Meanwhile, fault states such as fuse blowout, overvoltage, undervoltage and overload are uploaded to the DPU and upper monitoring system via the backplane bus. Every unit undergoes factory full-load durability testing, output voltage precision calibration and high-voltage insulation withstand test to guarantee long-term stable power splitting performance.

2. Core Functional Features

2.1 Multi-channel Isolated Branch Power Distribution

Realizes single-input multi-output power shunting; each output branch supplies power to a fixed group of rack modules with electrical isolation between different branches. Overload or short-circuit fault on one single branch will not propagate to other branches or the total rack input power supply.

2.2 Per-branch Independent Fuse Overcurrent Protection

Each power branch is fitted with a dedicated replaceable miniature fuse. Short circuit or overload only blows the corresponding branch fuse without causing full rack power outage; spare fuse holders are reserved for fast on-site maintenance replacement.

2.3 Real-time Sampling & Remote Upload of Power Parameters

Onboard sampling circuits continuously collect each branch’s output voltage, load current and internal module temperature. Operating data can be remotely uploaded to operator stations for real-time display and historical trend archiving.

2.4 Latched Local Fault Indication & Remote Alarm

When fuse blows, branch voltage abnormality, overload or overtemperature occurs, the module latches the fault state, activates the local front panel fault LED, and transmits an alarm signal to the upper monitoring platform for remote fault prompting.

2.5 Online Hot-swap Maintenance Support

When dual redundant main power supplies operate normally, this distribution module can be replaced online without cutting off the entire cabinet power supply; existing control logic and closed-loop regulation loops keep continuous operation with no disturbance.

2.6 Built-in EMI Filter Anti-interference Design

An input-side high-frequency filter circuit suppresses grid surges and coupled electromagnetic interference, reduces output voltage ripple, and improves the stability of working voltage for downstream control modules.

2.7 Native System Compatibility

Fully matched with Ovation standard racks, backplanes, redundant power supplies, DPUs and full-series I/O modules; no adapter boards or cabinet modifications are needed during installation, suitable for new cabinet assembly and spare part replacement during unit renovation projects.
