Emerson Ovation 5A26137G02 Rack Power Distribution Module

The 5A26137G02 is an original plug-in secondary power distribution module designed for the Emerson Ovation DCS rack; suffix G02 represents the updated hardware revision with factory full-load calibration and reliability verification. It works with rack redundant main power supplies to implement internal cabinet DC power branching, independent fusing, power status sampling and fault signal uploading. It distributes isolated DC working power separately to DPU controllers, various I/O electronic modules and corresponding terminal bases. Each power branch features independent protection and real-time monitoring, supports hot-swap maintenance under redundant power configuration, and is a key power distribution component for standard Ovation control cabinets, widely deployed in thermal power, petrochemical, metallurgy and other process industries.

Description

1. Overview

The module adopts standard Ovation rack plug-in structure compatible with standard backplane slots. Stable DC power output from redundant main power supplies enters this distribution module and is split into multiple mutually independent output branches. Every branch is equipped with replaceable fuses, voltage/current sampling circuits and status feedback loops, supplying power to designated rack slots, DPUs and I/O assemblies. Meanwhile, abnormal states including blown fuses, overvoltage, undervoltage and overload are uploaded to the DPU and upper monitoring system via the backplane bus. Each unit passes factory full-load aging test, voltage precision calibration and high-voltage insulation test to ensure long-term reliable power splitting operation.

2. Core Functional Features

2.1 Multi-channel Isolated Branch Power Distribution

Realizes single-input multi-output power shunting; each output branch powers a fixed group of rack modules with electrical isolation between branches. Overload or short-circuit fault on one branch will not spread to other branches or the overall rack input power supply.

2.2 Per-branch Independent Fuse Protection

Each power branch uses a dedicated replaceable miniature fuse. A short circuit or overload only blows the corresponding branch fuse without causing full rack power loss; spare fuse seats are reserved for rapid on-site maintenance replacement.

2.3 Real-time Power Parameter Sampling & Remote Upload

Onboard sampling circuits continuously collect each branch’s output voltage, load current and internal module temperature. Operating data can be remotely transmitted to operator stations for real-time display and historical trend recording.

2.4 Latched Fault Indication & Alarm Output

When a fuse blows, branch voltage abnormality, overload or overtemperature occurs, the module latches the fault state, lights the local fault LED, and sends an alarm signal to the upper monitoring platform for remote fault prompt.

2.5 Hot-swap Online Maintenance Support

With dual redundant main power supplies running normally, the distribution module can be replaced online without cutting off full cabinet power; existing control logic and closed-loop regulation loops keep continuous operation without disturbance.

2.6 Built-in EMI Filter Circuit

An input-side high-frequency filter suppresses grid surges and coupled electromagnetic interference, reduces output voltage ripple, and stabilizes the working power quality for downstream control modules.

2.7 Native System Compatibility

Fully matched with Ovation standard racks, backplanes, redundant power supplies, DPUs and full-series I/O modules; no adapter boards or cabinet modifications required during installation, suitable for new cabinet assembly and spare part replacement in unit renovation projects.
