1. Overview
This termination base adopts standard rack-mounted mechanical structure fully compatible with universal Ovation control rack backplanes. It integrates screw terminal blocks, gold-plated backplane bus connectors, anti-vibration module snap locking mechanism and per-channel replaceable miniature fuses. Field analog and digital signal cables terminate directly on the base terminals, and the upper-layer I/O electronic module is inserted and locked to realize bidirectional transmission of field process signals and DPU control commands. Each base passes factory continuity test, high-voltage insulation withstand test and wiring consistency verification, guaranteeing long-term anti-loose wiring reliability under continuous long-cycle industrial operation conditions.
2. Core Functional Features
2.1 Standardized Numbered Terminal Wiring
Equipped with one-to-one channel numbered screw terminal rows, suitable for shielded multi-core signal cable fixed wiring; channel marking corresponds completely with the matched upper electronic module channels, convenient for on-site construction, cable identification and later maintenance line inspection.
2.2 Independent Channel Fuse Overload Protection
Each signal channel is configured with an independent replaceable miniature fuse on the base side. Short-circuit or overload fault of a single field cable only blows the corresponding channel fuse, without causing power failure or signal interruption of adjacent channels and the whole rack loop; spare fuse seats are reserved for rapid on-site maintenance replacement.
2.3 Anti-Vibration Mechanical Locking Structure
Built-in module buckle locking structure firmly fixes the inserted I/O electronic module, effectively resisting cabinet vibration induced by fans and large rotating equipment, avoiding poor contact or accidental ejection of modules; quick-unlock design enables module disassembly without special tools.
2.4 Backplane Bus Bridging & Isolated Power Distribution
The internal PCB circuit realizes electrical bridging between the rack backplane bus and inserted I/O electronic module, distributes rack DC working power to the electronic module, and physically isolates the field signal loop and internal DCS control power loop to avoid cross interference between loops.
2.5 Support Electronic Module Hot-Swap Maintenance
After the termination base is installed and field wiring is completed, the matched upper I/O electronic module can be hot-plugged and replaced online during normal DCS system operation, without re-wiring field cables, greatly shortening equipment maintenance downtime.
2.6 Enhanced Insulation & Surge Suppression
The base housing is made of high flame-retardant high-insulation engineering plastic; transient surge absorption components are integrated at the terminal side, suppressing lightning induced surges and cable coupled voltage spikes from invading the internal circuit of the I/O electronic module.
2.7 Universal System Compatibility
Fully compatible with full-series Ovation plug-in I/O electronic modules (AI, AO, DI, DO, RTD, frequency/pulse counting modules). It can be directly installed on standard Ovation rack slots without adapter plates or cabinet reconstruction, applicable to new cabinet assembly and spare part replacement during old unit renovation projects.
