1. Overview
This termination base adopts standard rack mounting structure fully compatible with Ovation standard control rack backplanes. It integrates terminal screw terminals, internal backplane bus connectors, module positioning locking mechanism and built-in branch fuses. Field analog/digital signal cables are wired onto the base terminals, and the upper electronic I/O module is directly inserted and locked to realize seamless signal transmission between field equipment and DPU controller. Each base undergoes factory continuity testing, insulation withstand voltage testing and wiring verification, ensuring long-term wiring reliability and anti-loose performance for long-cycle industrial operation.
2. Core Functional Features
2.1 Integrated Field Wiring Termination
Equipped with standardized screw terminal rows, supports multi-core field signal cable fixed wiring, meets standard wire gauge wiring requirements; terminals are numbered in one-to-one correspondence with module channels, convenient for on-site construction, inspection and maintenance wire checking.
2.2 Built-in Independent Channel Fuse Protection
Each signal channel is equipped with an independent miniature fuse on the base side; short-circuit or overload fault on a single field cable will only blow the corresponding channel fuse, without causing power failure or signal interruption of adjacent channels and the whole rack loop. Spare fuse seats are reserved for quick on-site replacement.
2.3 Mechanical Locking & Anti-Vibration Design
Equipped with module snap locking structure, the inserted I/O electronic module can be firmly fixed, resisting cabinet vibration caused by fans and rotating equipment to avoid poor contact or loose module ejection; convenient quick-unlock structure supports module disassembly without professional tools.
2.4 Backplane Bus Signal Routing & Power Distribution
Internal printed circuit completes the bridging between rack backplane bus and upper inserted electronic module, distributes rack DC working power to the I/O module, and isolates field signal loop and internal control power loop physically.
2.5 Supports Electronic Module Hot-Swap
When the termination base is installed and wired in place, the matched upper I/O electronic module can be hot-plugged and replaced online while the DCS system is running normally; no need to rewire field cables, greatly shortening maintenance downtime.
2.6 Insulation & Surge Suppression Enhancement
Base substrate adopts high-insulation flame-retardant engineering plastic; built-in transient surge absorption components at the terminal side, restraining induced lightning surge and cable coupled voltage spikes from invading the internal I/O module circuit.
2.7 Universal System Compatibility
Fully compatible with all Ovation series plug-in electronic I/O modules (AI, AO, DI, DO, RTD, pulse counting modules etc.). Direct installation on standard Ovation rack slots, no adapter or cabinet modification needed, applicable for new project cabinet assembly and old unit spare part replacement renovation.

4. Status Indicator Definition
PWR (Green): Steady ON = base internal power distribution normal; OFF = fuse blown or backplane power loss
CH STATUS Indicator: Channel lamp lights up when corresponding field signal loop is normally connected
FAULT (Red): Lights up when channel fuse blows or terminal wiring short-circuit occurs; fault positioning is clear
