1. Overview
This module adopts standard plug-in mechanical structure fully compatible with universal Ovation control rack backplanes. It receives digital setpoint commands transmitted from the local DPU via the internal backplane bus, completes D/A conversion, signal amplification, filtering and galvanic isolation, and outputs standard analog driving signals to execute field flow, pressure, temperature, liquid level closed-loop adjustment. Each module undergoes strict factory aging testing and full-range output calibration to guarantee high linearity and measurement precision. Redundant deployment avoids single-point regulation loop failure and ensures stable continuous process control.
2. Core Functional Features
2.1 High-Precision D/A Conversion
Adopts high-resolution digital-to-analog conversion chip, with excellent output linearity and low temperature drift, meeting the high precision adjustment requirements of critical process loops in power and chemical plants. Each channel supports independent range configuration.
2.2 Channel Independent Galvanic Isolation
Every analog output channel is electrically isolated from the internal backplane circuit, effectively blocking ground potential difference and ground loop interference introduced by long-distance field cables, preventing reverse voltage backfeed from damaging the DPU and rack backplane hardware.
2.3 Standard Industrial Analog Output
Mainly supports 4–20mA DC current signal, compatible with most on-site valve positioners, variable frequency drives and analog actuators; long-distance signal transmission will not cause obvious attenuation, suitable for distributed field equipment layout.
2.4 Multi-Layer Safety Protection
Built-in output short-circuit locking, overcurrent limiting, reverse polarity protection and transient surge absorption circuits. Short-circuit fault of a single channel will be automatically cut off and will not affect the normal work of other channels and the whole module.
2.5 Hot-Swap & Redundant Operation Support
Online hot swapping is available while the DCS system runs normally; maintenance replacement will not interrupt the continuous adjustment of the original closed-loop control loop. Dual-module redundant hot standby can realize bumpless automatic switching upon module failure.
2.6 Full Onboard Real-Time Self-Diagnosis
Real-time monitoring of output open circuit, short circuit, overload, module internal power supply abnormality and backplane communication timeout. Fault codes and alarm information are remotely uploaded to the Ovation operator workstation; front panel LED indicators provide local intuitive status prompts for fast troubleshooting.
2.7 Native System Compatibility
Fully compatible with full series Ovation DPUs and standard I/O racks. No additional adapter boards or backplane reconstruction modifications are required during installation, applicable to new project construction and spare part replacement for old unit renovation projects.

4. Front Panel LED Indicator Definition
PWR (Green LED): Steady ON = module internal power supply normal; OFF = power loss or blown internal fuse
CH ACT (Green LED): Flashes when the corresponding channel outputs normal analog signals
COMM (Green LED): Blinking = normal data exchange with local DPU and backplane bus
FAULT (Red LED): Illuminates on channel short-circuit/open-circuit, overload, hardware damage or communication interruption; fault status is latched for maintenance confirmation
