Adopting standard plug-in mechanical structure fully compatible with universal Ovation control rack backplanes, this module parses control instructions delivered by the local DPU via internal backplane bus, and outputs isolated DC drive signals channel by channel to field loads. Each channel works independently; short-circuit or overload fault on one single channel will not affect other channels or the whole module operation. Every product passes strict factory burn-in aging testing and output precision calibration, serving as the direct execution unit for automatic sequence control and safety interlock logic of the automation system.
2. Core Functional Features
2.1 Channel Independent Optoelectronic Isolation
Each output channel adopts dedicated optocoupler isolation design, completely separating DCS internal control circuit and field load loop. Reverse voltage backfeed and strong electromagnetic interference from field side cannot damage rack backplane and main controller hardware, greatly improving system safety.
2.2 Multi-level Built-in Protection Circuits
Equipped with channel overcurrent locking, short-circuit automatic cut-off and recovery, reverse wiring protection and transient surge absorption components. When field wiring misconnection or short-circuit occurs, the faulty channel automatically cuts off output to avoid fault diffusion to the whole control cabinet.
2.3 Standard DC Active Output
Provides stable DC voltage active output, which can directly energize intermediate relay coils, solenoid valves and on-site status indicator lamps without extra signal conversion modules, simplifying secondary wiring layout on site.
2.4 Hot-swap Online Maintenance
Supports live hot swapping under normal DCS running state. Module replacement will not change the output status of remaining channels, nor disrupt critical safety interlock and sequential control logic execution.
2.5 Full Onboard Real-time Self-diagnosis
Continuously monitors channel overload, short circuit, open load and internal power supply abnormality. Fault codes and alarm messages are uploaded remotely to the Ovation operator workstation; front panel LEDs display channel output state and module fault alerts visually for rapid on-site troubleshooting.
2.6 Excellent Native Compatibility
Fully compatible with full-series Ovation DPUs and standard I/O racks. No additional adapter boards or backplane modification are needed during installation, applicable to new project construction and spare part replacement for old unit renovation.
