1. Overview
This module adopts standard plug-in mechanical structure fully compatible with universal Ovation control rack backplanes. It receives passive contact or active level digital signals from field devices such as circuit breakers, isolating switches, valve position feedback switches and motor auxiliary contacts. After optical isolation and hardware debounce filtering, the digital status is encoded and uploaded to the rack DPU through the internal backplane bus for sequential control, safety interlock and equipment status monitoring. Each module undergoes strict factory burn-in aging testing and signal verification to guarantee reliable on-off state recognition accuracy. It serves as the core discrete signal acquisition unit for automated production lines.
2. Core Functional Features
2.1 Optical Isolation for Each Channel
Every digital input channel is equipped with independent optocoupler isolation circuits, thoroughly isolating field high-voltage interference and ground loop potential differences, preventing external abnormal voltage from damaging the rack backplane and main controller hardware.
2.2 Hardware Debounce & Anti-Jitter Processing
Onboard hardware filtering and software configurable debounce time eliminate transient contact bounce and electromagnetic interference pulse signals, avoiding false triggering of interlock logic caused by signal jitter.
2.3 Multi-Layer Circuit Protection
Integrated input overvoltage protection, reverse polarity protection and surge absorption circuits adapt to complex on-site wiring environments and effectively resist instantaneous voltage surges introduced by long-distance cables.
2.4 Hot-Swap Maintainability
Supports online hot swapping under the running state of the entire DCS system; replacement maintenance will not interrupt the signal acquisition of other channels or affect the execution of safety interlock logic of the whole cabinet.
2.5 Built-In Full Self-Diagnosis
Real-time monitoring of channel open circuit, input overvoltage and internal power supply abnormality; fault codes and alarm information can be remotely uploaded to the Ovation operator workstation. Front panel LED indicators directly display channel on-off status and module fault prompts for rapid on-site inspection.
2.6 High System Compatibility
Natively compatible with full series Ovation DPUs and standard I/O racks, no additional adapter boards or backplane modifications are required during installation, applicable to new project construction and spare part replacement for old unit renovation.

FAULT (Red LED): Lights up for channel abnormal input, hardware failure or communication interruption; fault status is latched
