The 5217D13 is a standard high-precision analog input module belonging to Emerson Ovation DCS I/O series, dedicated to collecting standard industrial analog current signals from field transmitters, completing A/D conversion, and transmitting digital measurement values to the DPU controller for process monitoring, closed-loop regulation and interlock logic judgmentEmerson.
It adopts plug-in rack installation design and supports hot swapping without affecting the normal operation of other modules in the same control rack. Each input channel is equipped with independent galvanic isolation, surge suppression and overvoltage protection circuits, which effectively eliminate ground loop interference caused by long-distance field cables and prevent abnormal field voltage from damaging the rack internal backplane circuits. Built-in full-channel real-time diagnosis functions can detect field loop open circuit, short circuit, transmitter power loss and internal module hardware faults, and upload fault codes to the operator station for remote alarm and maintenance arrangement.
Signal range scaling, digital filtering time, engineering unit conversion and fault response modes can be uniformly configured through Ovation engineering configuration software. Featuring low temperature drift, excellent linearity and strong EMC performance, it is widely used in thermal power, petrochemical, metallurgy and other large continuous process control projects as core analog signal acquisition hardware.

Input Channel Parameters

Multiple isolated analog input channels are integrated, fully compatible with widely used 4–20mA two-wire field transmitters. Each channel is equipped with loop power supply monitoring function for transmitters, facilitating quick on-site fault location. Configurable digital filtering function can suppress high-frequency signal fluctuation and measurement noise interference. Channel-to-channel isolation withstand voltage reaches 1000V AC/DC.

Acquisition Accuracy

High-resolution A/D conversion circuit is adopted, with full-scale measurement accuracy better than ±0.1% FS and excellent long-term stability. The measurement precision meets the strict requirements of key process parameters such as boiler drum water level, steam pressure, feedwater flow and bearing temperature in power plant control loops.

Electrical Power Parameters

Power is supplied uniformly through the Ovation rack backplane without additional external power supply wiring. Low power consumption will not overload the rack redundant power supply units. Matched dedicated rear terminal base is delivered together for centralized termination of field cables, simplifying on-site wiring construction and later routine maintenance work.

Diagnostic & Configuration Features

Continuous self-inspection covers internal hardware circuits and each field input loop. Abnormal states are indicated via front panel LED indicators and synchronously uploaded to the upper monitoring system. Each channel can be independently set with range scaling, filtering parameters and alarm enable options to adapt to different field transmitters and measurement ranges.
