4256A66G01 is the first-generation standard analog output module of Westinghouse Emerson 4256 series Ovation WDPF distributed control system, serving as the base original version with full plug-and-play compatibility for Ovation remote I/O rack system, matched with 4256A25 series MRC main remote control boards and 4256A26 remote expansion boards. No complex program modification is needed during installation and replacement.

Description

This analog output board converts digital control signals transmitted by the MRC master board into standard industrial analog current signals for driving field actuators, control valves, frequency converters and regulating equipment. It outputs standard 4–20mA analog signals, with high linearity signal conversion circuits. Each channel adopts independent D/A conversion unit and isolated output design to avoid cross-channel interference. The module supports output fault detection, open-circuit and short-circuit diagnosis of field load loops, and feeds back loop fault signals to the DCS main controller in real time.
Compared with later upgraded revisions, G01 is the foundational stable version, equipped with basic linear D/A conversion, single-stage isolation and standard loop diagnosis functions, meeting conventional process regulation demands of thermal power, chemical industry and metallurgy. It adopts stable signal conversion chips with low temperature drift to guarantee consistent output precision under normal cabinet operating temperature.
The circuit board adopts multi-layer high-temperature resistant FR-4 industrial PCB with basic electromagnetic shielding layout. Each output channel provides 1000V AC/DC galvanic isolation between field load terminals and internal logic circuits, isolating interference from field actuator power loops. Every finished module passes standard factory reliability tests: 72-hour high-low temperature cyclic aging test, full-channel 4–20mA linearity calibration, long-term full-load bus communication burn-in, load open/short-circuit fault simulation test.
It supports single-slot hot-swappable online replacement without shutting down the entire DCS remote station, and integrates multi-level hardware protection for each output channel: surge suppression, overcurrent protection, reverse wiring protection, short-circuit automatic locking protection. Independent LED diagnostic indicators display power supply status, MRC bus communication status and single-channel output loop fault alarms for quick on-site inspection and maintenance.
