4256A64G02 / 3A99163G50 Emerson Ovation WDPF DCS Upgraded High Precision RTD Temperature Acquisition Board

4256A64G02 is the original legacy part number of Westinghouse, while 3A99163G50 is Emerson’s unified aftermarket spare part number with hardware revision G50. The two part numbers refer to the identical upgraded high-precision RTD temperature acquisition board, which is perfectly matched with 4256A25 series MRC main remote control boards and 4256A26 remote expansion boards for Ovation WDPF DCS remote I/O racks. It realizes full plug-and-play backward compatibility with the earlier G01 version without any modification to system configuration during replacement.

Description

This module is specially designed for acquiring industrial RTD signals including PT100 and PT1000. It completes front-end signal filtering, constant current excitation, galvanic isolation and optimized high-precision temperature conversion algorithms, delivering low-drift and stable digital temperature data to the DCS main controller. Compared with the G01 model, the G02 version upgrades core sampling circuits, effectively reduces long-term measurement drift of weak resistance signals, and adopts an enhanced lead resistance compensation algorithm to eliminate measurement errors caused by long-distance field cables. It supports 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire RTD wiring modes, and each signal channel is equipped with an independent isolation circuit to completely avoid cross-channel signal crosstalk.
The circuit board adopts multi-layer high-temperature resistant FR-4 industrial PCB with full-surround electromagnetic shielding layout. Every signal channel is equipped with 1000V AC/DC galvanic isolation between field wiring terminals and internal logic circuits, which strongly suppresses intense electromagnetic interference generated by inverters, high-voltage switchgears and large rotating equipment in thermal power, petrochemical and metallurgical heavy industrial scenarios. Each finished board passes comprehensive factory reliability tests, including 72-hour high-low temperature cyclic aging, full-channel temperature precision calibration, long-term full-load bus communication burn-in and sensor open/short-circuit fault simulation. It supports single-slot hot-swappable installation without shutting down the whole DCS system, and integrates multi-level hardware protection functions: surge suppression, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, reverse polarity prevention and short-circuit protection. Independent LED diagnostic indicators clearly display power supply status, bus link state and single-channel sensor fault alarms to realize rapid on-site troubleshooting, greatly improving the long-term measurement accuracy and operation stability of industrial process temperature monitoring.
