4256A27G01 is a remote bus repeater extension card of Westinghouse Emerson 4256 series Ovation WDPF DCS system, matched with MRC master control boards (4256A25 series) and remote I/O expansion boards (4256A26 series). It works as a bus signal regenerator and long-distance transmission amplifier for remote RIO racks, solving signal attenuation and interference distortion problems during long cable transmission between main control cabinets and field remote stations. This module amplifies, reshapes and isolates MRC Link bus differential signals, extends the maximum communication transmission distance of remote racks, and supports cascading multiple remote I/O sub-stations. It is fully plug-and-play compatible with all MRC and remote expansion boards without modifying system configuration. Designed with multi-layer high-temperature resistant FR-4 industrial PCB and full enclosed electromagnetic shielding, it adopts 1000V AC/DC galvanic isolation between external bus wiring terminals and internal logic circuits to resist strong electromagnetic noise from frequency converters, high-voltage switch cabinets and large rotating machinery in thermal power, petrochemical and metallurgical heavy industrial sites. Every board passes strict factory qualification tests including 72-hour high-low temperature cyclic aging, full-load long-time bus communication burn-in and signal attenuation simulation test. It supports single-slot hot-swappable installation without shutting down the whole DCS system, and integrates multi-stage hardware protections including surge suppression, overvoltage, overcurrent, reverse polarity and short-circuit prevention. Built-in LED diagnostic lights display power status, input bus link, output bus link and hardware fault codes to realize fast on-site troubleshooting, greatly expanding the layout flexibility of distributed remote I/O stations and reducing communication failure risks caused by long-distance wiring.
