4256A26G01 is the original Westinghouse legacy part number, and 1C31183G01 is Emerson’s unified aftermarket spare part number. These two part numbers correspond to the identical remote I/O expansion interface board, which cooperates with the 4256A25 series MRC main remote control board for Ovation WDPF distributed control systems. Acting as a signal transmission bridge between MRC master cards and multiple field remote I/O subracks, it expands the access quantity of field remote stations and undertakes remote communication data buffering, bus signal reshaping and secondary bus scheduling. This module is fully plug-and-play and backward compatible with all versions of MRC main boards without modifying system configurations. It features enhanced bus signal driving circuits and larger signal cache capacity, delivering stronger channel load capacity and more stable communication performance than earlier generation expansion boards. The circuit board adopts multi-layer high-temperature resistant FR-4 industrial PCB with full enclosed electromagnetic shielding layout. 1000V AC/DC galvanic isolation is arranged between field wiring terminals and internal logic circuits to filter electromagnetic interference generated by inverters, high-voltage switchgears and large rotating equipment in thermal power, petrochemical and metallurgical heavy industrial sites. Every unit undergoes strict factory verification, including 72-hour high-low temperature cyclic aging test, full-load long-duration bus communication burn-in test and channel fault simulation test. It supports single-slot hot-swappable installation without shutting down the whole DCS system, and integrates multi-level hardware protections: surge suppression, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, reverse polarity protection and short-circuit protection. Equipped with LED diagnostic indicators for power supply, bus link and channel fault status, it enables rapid on-site troubleshooting, significantly improving the expandability of large multi-station DCS systems and reducing losses caused by unplanned production downtime.
