3A98688G03 is upgraded revision of 3A98688G02, belonging to 3A986XX series dedicated SCSI wiring harness for classic WDPF WEStation DCS VME cabinet. It connects front-mounted external storage drive and internal VME backplane mainboard inside workstation rack, responsible for transmitting DCS system configuration files, historical trend data, real-time alarm logs and auxiliary low-voltage power supply for front panel indicator circuits.

1. Product Introduction

3A98688G03 is upgraded revision of 3A98688G02, belonging to 3A986XX series dedicated SCSI wiring harness for classic WDPF WEStation DCS VME cabinet. It connects front-mounted external storage drive and internal VME backplane mainboard inside workstation rack, responsible for transmitting DCS system configuration files, historical trend data, real-time alarm logs and auxiliary low-voltage power supply for front panel indicator circuits.
Compared with G02 version, G03 optimizes wire material and connector sealing structure, improves anti-ageing and anti-vibration performance, specially designed for high-temperature & strong electromagnetic interference industrial site such as thermal power plant and petrochemical DCS system. Original OEM production discontinued; available stock includes tested refurbished cables and used dismantled original spare parts for on-site maintenance replacement.

2.3 G03 Upgrade Advantages over G02

  1. Connector tail sealing added silicone waterproof ring, prevent cabinet dust & humid gas corrosion of terminals;

  2. Core wire insulation material upgraded, slow down high-temperature long-term operation insulation ageing;

  3. Optimized internal wire arranging process, reduce wire friction damage under long-time cabinet vibration;

  4. Suitable for cabinet with poor heat dissipation and harsh on-site environment where G02 cannot run stably.

3. Core Function

  1. Build SCSI high-speed data channel between cabinet front storage unit and VME backplane main control board of WEStation engineering/operator station;

  2. Upload/download system parameter files, historical trend curves and DCS fault event records to local hard disk;

  3. Supply small auxiliary DC power for front panel storage indicator and peripheral auxiliary circuit.
