Emerson 1C31203G01 | Ovation Remote Node Controller Module
Description
Part Code Definition
1C31xxx: Ovation compact remote I/O series fixed prefix
203: exclusive model code for rack remote node controller
G01: first generation hardware revision
Technical Specifications
Backplane 5VDC powered, typical power consumption 4.9W;
Single rack capacity: maximum 8 slots for Ovation standard I/O modules;
Built-in dedicated RIO bus protocol processor, matches 19200bps fixed bus rate of RIO master card;
1500VAC dielectric isolation between rack backplane circuit and external field bus;
Operating ambient: -40℃~+70℃, 5%~90%RH non-condensing; supports hot plug on standard Ovation rack;
Dimension:132×54×190mm, net weight approx 0.45kg.
Interface & Communication Layout
Rear gold finger inserts rack backplane for internal slot bus communication with all local AI/DI/AO/DO modules;
Front terminal interface for RS485 RIO trunk wiring connecting upper RIO master module (1C31179G01);
Front panel LED indicators: RUN operation lamp, FAULT module fault lamp, BUS communication status lamp.
Core Functions
Cyclic scan and data collection of all I/O modules inside its own rack;
Package field I/O data and upload to upstream RIO master, distribute downlink control commands from DCS controller to corresponding local output modules;
Full rack fault diagnosis: slot module missing, internal bus failure, external RIO bus disconnection, fault information uploaded to Ovation system for real-time alarm;
Online rack address parameter setting via Ovation engineering software without module removal;
Single slot module malfunction is isolated, no interference to other I/O cards in same rack.
Application Scenarios
Thermal power plant boiler side dispersed remote I/O cabinet, steam turbine auxiliary system field signal collection cabinet; petrochemical device on-site separated control cabinet I/O expansion, old Ovation DCS renovation spare stocking.
Operation & Maintenance Notes
RIO communication cable uses shielded twisted pair, single-point shielding grounded inside main control cabinet;
Configure 120Ω matching terminal resistor at the terminal end of RIO bus trunk; keep bus wiring away from high-current power cable to avoid electromagnetic interference;
Regularly inspect front terminal fastening status and online rack communication state; replace module when whole rack offline after field circuit troubleshooting.
