The 45C200A is a local I/O processor module designed for Reliance AutoMate 30 and 40 series PLC systems. It is not a standalone CPU module. It takes charge of collecting and preprocessing local and remote I/O data, and exchanges data with the main CPU. The suffix A stands for the first hardware revision. This product has been discontinued. Only surplus, refurbished or new old stock units are available for maintenance and replacement of legacy automation systems. It is incompatible with AutoMate 20 series modules such as 45C20.

45C is the general prefix for all modules of the Reliance AutoMate PLC series. 200 represents the local I/O processor for AutoMate 30 and 40 platforms. The letter A indicates the first hardware revision with optimized internal circuits and improved operational stability.

This module is powered by 24VDC supplied through the system backplane. It can manage up to 256 digital I/O points and 64 analog I/O points for a single station. It adopts dedicated chips to handle I/O protocols and error checking. Multiple LED indicators on the front panel show the status of power, operation, communication and faults. The operating temperature ranges from -10°C to 60°C. It supports DIN rail mounting and panel mounting with a rugged metal housing. The total weight is approximately 1.2 kilograms.

It connects to AutoMate 30 and 40 series main CPU via a dedicated proprietary backplane bus. Four ports on the front panel are used for connecting local I/O modules. An optional BNC port supports R-net peer-to-peer network to link multiple I/O stations. This module has no independent programming port. All program configuration, monitoring and parameter setting are completed through the matched main CPU. It cannot work with AutoMate 20 series backplane and modules.

Install the module firmly on the DIN rail or mounting panel, and ensure the backplane connector is fully engaged. Check all connected cables and I/O modules before the system is powered on. Perform regular quarterly inspections to check LED status, cable tightness and module surface cleanliness, and remove dust regularly to guarantee good heat dissipation. Cut off the entire system power supply and wait for full discharge before disassembly or maintenance to prevent electric shock. Use only matched AutoMate 30 and 40 series accessories. Do not mix it with modules from other AutoMate series to avoid system failure and component damage.
