Description

Product Description

The 2GU41003 is a 3 HP (2.2 kW) three-phase AC variable frequency drive of Reliance Electric GP-2000 series. It adopts 460 VAC input and is designed for general industrial motor speed regulation. It is widely applied to fans, pumps, conveyors and other standard machinery. This product has been discontinued, and refurbished units are mainly used for maintenance and replacement of legacy equipment.

Model Number Interpretation

2 represents the standard industrial drive series. GU stands for the 460 VAC voltage platform of GP-2000 series. 41003 means 460 VAC input, 3 HP rated power and hardware revision 03.

Technical Specifications

Motor power is 3 HP (2.2 kW) with apparent power of 4.2 kVA. Input voltage is 460 VAC ±10%, three-phase, 50/60 Hz. Output voltage ranges from 0 to 460 VAC, three-phase. Output frequency ranges from 0 to 400 Hz. The continuous rated output current is 5.5 A. It adopts open-loop V/F control mode. Built-in protection functions include overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperature, short-circuit and ground fault protection. The operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to +45 °C. It is panel mounted with NEMA 1 enclosure. The overall weight is approximately 9.9 kg. The dimensions are 394 × 203 × 248 mm (H×W×D).

Interface and Communication Configuration

It is equipped with power terminals for three-phase main input, motor output and DC bus braking connection. The control terminals support ±10 V analog input for speed reference and 24 VDC digital I/O for start stop, fault reset and jog functions. It uses Reliance proprietary protocol and has no standard fieldbus ports. The onboard keypad and 7-segment display are used for parameter setting and fault code checking. This model does not have encoder interface and only supports open-loop V/F control.

Core Functions

It provides stable speed regulation for 3 HP three-phase AC motors with V/F control. It reduces energy consumption for variable-torque loads such as fans and pumps. It supports external braking resistors to realize rapid deceleration. Real-time system monitoring and fault code recording enable efficient troubleshooting. Users can configure acceleration time, deceleration time, current limit and I/O logic via the local panel.

Application Scenarios

It is suitable for conveyors, packaging machines and assembly lines in light industry. It matches medium and large fans, water pumps and agitators in HVAC and process industries. It applies to conveying and lifting equipment driven by 3 HP AC motors. It can be used as a direct replacement for old GP-2000 series drives in legacy automation systems.

Usage and Maintenance Instructions

Install the drive inside a well-ventilated cabinet and keep at least 50 mm clearance around the unit for heat dissipation. Use shielded cables for power and control wiring, and tighten all terminals to 1.2 N·m. Verify the input voltage before powering on. Power up the control circuit first, then the main power, and set parameters according to the motor nameplate. Inspect wiring connections every quarter and clean internal dust regularly. Disconnect all power and wait 5 minutes for DC bus capacitors to fully discharge before any inspection or maintenance work.
