Honeywell 51304685-100 (AdvComm R100 Communication Card)
Description
Product Introduction
51304685-100 is the first-generation advanced communication card (AdvComm R100/APMM) of the original version of the Honeywell TDC3000/UCN DCS system, used for basic UCN bus communication between the controller, I/O and the upper computer. It belongs to the early low-speed, simplest configuration communication module and is now mostly used as spare parts for outdated systems.
Model Interpretation
5130: Honeywell TDC3000/UCN/Experion PKS DCS series;
4685: Advanced Communication (AdvComm/APMM) card family;
100: Hardware version R100, representing the first generation, simplest configuration, non-redundant, single UCN interface, no additional protocols. Technical Specifications
Communication interface: UCN bus (1Mbps), no Ethernet / serial port;
Supported protocols: Only UCN dedicated protocol, no conversion capabilities for Modbus, etc.;
Redundancy capability: Does not support redundancy, operates with a single card;
Operating voltage: 24VDC ±10%, powered by the bus;
Power consumption: Minimum, approximately 10% lower than R150;
Environmental conditions: Operating temperature 0℃~+50℃, storage -40℃~+70℃, humidity 5%–95% (no condensation);
Structural weight: Standard DCS card, approximately 0.45kg;
Certifications: CE/UL, basic three-proof coating.
Interface and communication configuration
System connection: Unique UCN interface, directly connects the controller and the local I/O subsystem;
Protocol conversion: No third-party protocol conversion, only native UCN communication;
Clock synchronization: Dependent on UCN network clock, no independent clock chip;
Diagnostic interface: Only 2 indicator lights (RUN/FAULT), simplest online diagnosis;
Hot swapping: Supports on-line replacement without affecting system operation. Core function
Basic UCN Communication: Ensures real-time data transmission between the old system controller and I/O;
Ultra-low power consumption: Suitable for scenarios where the power supply capacity of the old cabinets is limited;
Minimal design: Fewer failure points, suitable for old equipment with long-term stable operation;
Data caching: Only caches the most core control data, without large-capacity storage. Applicable scenarios
Adaptation system: Honeywell TDC3000, UCN older system (Experion PKS is basically incompatible and is only occasionally used in very old upgrade projects);
Industry applications: Replacement of ultra-obsolete DCS system spare parts in process industries such as petrochemicals and power generation;
Typical uses: The smallest non-redundant system, emergency spare parts for old equipment, low-cost basic network restoration.
Installation and maintenance Installation
Insert the standard slot of the DCS cabinet and lock the back panel connector;
Connect the UCN bus and confirm that the RUN light is constantly on and the FAULT light is off;
The software only needs to configure the basic UCN address and the download will take effect. Maintenance
Keep the cabinet clean and dry, and regularly check the UCN wiring and connectors;
Use the system basic diagnostic tools to monitor the communication status;
The spare parts must be stored in anti-static bags to prevent damage from static electricity;
Do not disassemble the machine privately; the repair should be carried out by professional personnel.
