This version adopts standard circuit design without conformal coating, and is applicable to regular industrial control environments.
Model Definition
51305557‑100 is the official Honeywell part number used for procurement, inventory management and equipment maintenance. The digit segment 5130 represents the series of Honeywell DCS hardware. 5557 stands for the dedicated circuit design of low-level analog multiplexer. The suffix 100 indicates the standard hardware version without conformal coating. This product belongs to Honeywell analog input multiplexer series and matches corresponding IOP cards to form a complete signal acquisition unit.
Technical Specifications
This module is fully compatible with Honeywell Experion PKS equipped with C300 controller and TDC 3000 DCS systems. It provides 32 independent low-level analog input channels. Supported signal types cover multiple types of thermocouples, PT100 and PT1000 RTDs, as well as millivolt signals within the range of ±100 mV and ±500 mV. It adopts 16-bit A/D conversion, with the basic accuracy reaching ±0.05% of full scale at 25 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature drift is ±20 ppm per degree Celsius. Each channel is isolated with 500 VDC between channels and to ground. The module is built-in with cold-junction compensation circuit for thermocouple measurement. The working power is 24 VDC with a tolerance of plus or minus ten percent, and the typical operating current is 0.4 A. The operating temperature ranges from minus 20 degrees Celsius to plus 60 degrees Celsius, and the storage temperature ranges from minus 40 degrees Celsius to plus 85 degrees Celsius. The applicable relative humidity is 5% to 95% without condensation. The overall dimension is 307 mm × 220 mm × 30 mm, and the net weight is about 0.75 kg. The product has passed CE, UL, CSA and RoHS certifications.
Interface and Communication Configuration
The front side of the module is equipped with 32 sets of compression screw terminals for connecting on-site sensors, together with dedicated terminals for 24 VDC power supply and grounding. The internal part is connected to the supporting LLMUX IOP card through ribbon cables, and transmits data via Honeywell proprietary I/O bus with a maximum transmission speed of 10 Mbps. It supports HART signal pass-through for smart field transmitters. The module has complete diagnostic functions, which can monitor the operating status of power supply, communication and channels in real time. It can detect common faults such as circuit open, short circuit and signal overrange, and feed back fault information to the DCS engineer station.
Core Functions
It realizes signal multiplexing for 32 channels of weak analog signals, and combines multiple paths of on-site signals into one data stream to transmit to the control system. The built-in signal conditioning circuit completes amplification, filtering and isolation processing for low-level signals, effectively suppressing electromagnetic interference and crosstalk between channels. The integrated cold-junction compensation function effectively reduces measurement errors of thermocouples. It can quickly identify sensor and line faults and send out alarm prompts to facilitate timely troubleshooting. The module supports hot swap, so it can be replaced online without shutting down the system, reducing the loss caused by equipment maintenance.
Application Scenarios
This product is widely used in oil and gas, chemical industry, power generation, pharmaceutical, papermaking and other process industries. It is mainly used for high-density temperature measurement of industrial equipment such as reactors, furnaces and heat exchangers, as well as data acquisition of various low-level analog sensors. It is suitable for clean and dry conventional industrial control rooms with stable temperature and humidity. It is not recommended to use it in environments with heavy dust, high humidity or corrosive gas for a long time.
Usage and Maintenance Instructions
Usage
Install the module on standard 35 mm DIN rail or mounting panel inside the control cabinet, and reserve enough ventilation space around the module. Connect the 24 VDC power supply according to the wiring requirements, and confirm that the power indicator is normally on with no fault alarms. Connect thermocouples, RTDs and other field sensors to the corresponding terminals, strictly follow the polarity requirements during wiring, and fasten the screws with standard torque. Log in to the DCS engineer station to configure channel types, signal ranges and compensation parameters, download the configuration and verify the normal data collection. When replacement is needed, use the same model module for hot swap operation.
Maintenance
Keep the inside of the control cabinet clean and dry, and maintain the ambient temperature and humidity within the specified range. Check the status of indicator lights every month, and inspect whether the terminals and connecting lines are loose or corroded every quarter. Use dry soft cloth to clean dust on the module surface and connectors, and never use liquid cleaning agents. Place spare modules in anti-static packaging and store them in a cool and dry environment, avoiding strong vibration and extrusion. Do not disassemble the module without authorization. All installation and maintenance work shall be completed by professional and qualified personnel.
