0-57050
Product Introduction
0-57050 is a rack power supply and backplane assembly for Honeywell Sieger System 57 gas detection and control systems. It delivers stable 24VDC power and integrates the system communication backplane for all plug-in cards, acting as the core power distribution and interconnection unit for the entire rack. This product is discontinued and only available from aftermarket or repair stock.
Description
Model Explanation
0-57050 is the dedicated part number for the System 57 rack power supply and backplane assembly. It is designed exclusively for the 5700 series rack system, different from individual channel cards of the 05704 series.
Technical Parameters
Manufacturer: Honeywell Analytics (formerly Sieger Limited)Applicable System: Honeywell Sieger System 57 gas and fire detection control systemInput Voltage: 110/230VAC ±10%, 50/60HzOutput Voltage: 24VDC ±5%, maximum continuous current 8ABackplane Bus: Dedicated parallel data bus compatible with 5701 and 5704 series cardsSlot Quantity: 16 slots for standard 19-inch rack, 8 slots for half-size rackOperating Temperature: -5°C to +55°CDimensions for standard rack: 483 × 178 × 300 mmWeight: Approximately 4.5 kgKey Components: Switching power module, backplane PCB, 10A fuse, power status LED indicators
Interface & Communication Configuration
AC Input: IEC C13 socket with built-in fuse holderDC Output via Backplane: 24VDC, ground and communication bus connecting to all card slotsSlot Connectors: Euro-style connectors for 16 or 8 slots, matching 5701 and 5704 series cardsStatus Indicators: PWR LED for normal power status, FLT LED for power failureGround Terminal: Protective earth connection for the entire rack
Core Functions
It provides centralized 24VDC power supply for all control cards and interface cards installed in the rack. It enables data exchange between individual cards and the system bus for transmission of alarm signals, gas concentration data and configuration parameters. It features overcurrent and short circuit protection with built-in 10A fuse, which cuts off power output and activates fault indicator when abnormality occurs. It continuously monitors output voltage and current, and triggers system fault alarm once abnormal conditions are detected.
Application Scenarios
Applicable Equipment: Honeywell Sieger System 57 19-inch rack-mounted gas and fire detection controllersTarget Industries: Oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, power generation, water treatment, offshore platforms and marine vesselsInstallation: Standard 19-inch industrial cabinet with 3U height, installed in indoor non-hazardous control rooms
Operation & Maintenance Instructions
Installation
Mount the rack into a standard 19-inch cabinet and keep at least 50 mm clearance for proper ventilation. Connect 110/230VAC input cable and ensure reliable earthing. Insert 5701 and 5704 series cards fully and fasten front panel screws. Switch on AC power and confirm the PWR LED is on and the FLT LED remains off.
Maintenance
Perform quarterly inspection on LED status and AC terminals to check for loose connections or overheating. Conduct semi-annual maintenance: cut off all power, remove dust from backplane and connectors with dry air under ESD protection, and inspect fuse condition. Replace only with original 0-57050 assembly. Disconnect AC power and remove all cards before replacement work.
Troubleshooting
If PWR LED stays off, check AC power supply, fuse and internal wiring of power module. If FLT LED keeps illuminated, inspect for backplane short circuit, faulty cards or damaged power module caused by overload. If cards lose communication, check connector contact, bus wiring and make sure all cards are fully seated.
Precautions
High voltage exists on AC input side. Always cut off power and post warning tags before maintenance. Wear anti-static wristband when touching backplane or circuit cards to avoid ESD damage. Do not exceed the rated total output current of 8A to prevent overload.
