JANCD-MBB02

JANCD-MBB02 (Yaskawa, XRC/MRC Robot I/O Backplane (Revised Version)) Function: An upgraded replacement version of MBB01, used for the control cabinet of Motoman XRC/MRC robots. It is no longer produced by the original manufacturer. Disassembly/reconditioning is the main approach. It is compatible with the pins of MBB01 and has stronger functions.

Description

I. Model and Identification

Model: JANCD-MBB02 (sub-model MBB02-1/MBB02-2; -2 is the Rev B upgraded version)

Part Number: 132147-2 (replacing MBB01's 132147-1)

Soldering: Printed on the front of the PCB as JANCD-MBB02, version Rev A/B

Series Classification: JANCD → XRC/MRC robot control cabinet (non-numerical control)

Status: Completely discontinued by the original manufacturer, MBB02-2 (Rev B) is the most stable and has a smaller stock.

II. Core Differences between MBB02 and MBB01 (Upgrade Points)

1. Hardware and Reliability

Slot Gold Plating: MBB02 has all slots gold-plated (MBB01 is tin-plated), anti-oxidation, and more stable contact, with MTBF increased to 2.2 million hours (MBB01 is 2 million hours).

Backplane Routing: Optimized ground and power layers, with 30% improved anti-interference capability, suitable for high-density I/O scenarios.

Connector Reinforcement: 5 connectors (1×96-pin, 2×16-pin, 2×3-pin) with reinforced locking mechanisms, preventing vibration-induced loosening.

Battery Interface: CNBATVD anti-reverse connection design (MBB01 has none), protecting dedicated batteries.

2. Compatibility and Replacement

Fully compatible with MBB01: Consistent with pins / dimensions / installation holes, can be directly replaced in the XRC/MRC cabinet's MBB01, no need to rewire.

Sub-board Adaptation: Same as MBB01, supports JANCD-AIF01, YIF01, UIF01, etc. robot I/F boards, incompatible with numerical control PC20/21/22.

III. Technical Specifications (MBB02-2 Rev B)

Compatible Systems: Motoman XRC, MRC robot controllers (DX100/DX200 not applicable)

Number of Slots: 12 I/O slots (same as MBB01)

Power Supply: DC24V ±10%, total backplane power consumption approximately 65W (5W higher than MBB01, stronger load capacity)

Operating Temperature: 0–45℃ (MBB01 is 0–40℃, better heat resistance)

Size / Weight: Approximately 250×220×30mm / 1.2kg (slightly heavier than MBB01)

IV. Key Differences between MBB02 and MB20E/MB21/MB2 Table

Project MBB02 (Robot Backplate) MB20E/MB21/MB22 (Numerical Control Motherboard)

Purpose XRC/MRC Robot I/O Expansion Backplate J300/LX3 Numerical Control System CPU / Axis Card Motherboard

Slots 12×I/O Slots (Specifically for Robot I/F Board) 6/8/9× System Slots (CPU / Memory / Spindle)

Subboard Compatibility AIF01/YIF01/UIF01 (Robot) PC20/PC21/PC22 (Numerical Control)

Battery Special CNBATVD (Anti-Reversal) 5.5V (MB20/21) / 3V (MB22)

System Interchangeability Not interchangeable with any numerical control motherboard Not interchangeable with robot backplate

V. Typical Configuration and Replacement Suggestions

XRC High-End Robot Configuration: MBB02-2 + AIF01 + I/O Module ×8 + Power Unit (Supports more I/O than MBB01)

Replacement Priority: MBB02-2 (Rev B) > MBB02-1 > MBB01; Prefer gold-plated slots, tested OK, with 3-month warranty boards

Alarm Handling: No display upon power-on → Check 24V power supply and connectors; Parameter loss → Replace with special battery (anti-reversal); Inconsistent I/O communication → Prefer to replace with gold-plated MBB02-2.
