5. INSTALLATION

  1. Power OFF: Disconnect CNC and spindle power.

  2. Align Flange: Match 68° flange to spindle motor mounting face.

  3. Secure Encoder: Fasten with 4×M5 screws (torque: 2.5–3.0 N·m).

  4. Connect Shaft: Couple encoder shaft to spindle shaft (15 mm diameter).

  5. Wire Connector: Attach 17‑pin cable to CNC spindle feedback port.

  6. Set Parameters: Configure CNC for 1024 PPR, 4000 RPM max.

  7. Test: Run spindle at low speed; verify stable speed/position feedback.

6. MAINTENANCE & TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Maintenance:

    • Keep encoder clean; avoid oil/dust ingress.

    • Check connector tightness quarterly.

    • Verify shaft coupling for wear annually.

  • Common Issues:

    • No signal: Check 5 VDC supply; inspect 17‑pin connector.

    • Intermittent signal: Clean connector contacts; check cable for damage.

    • Speed fluctuation: Verify shaft coupling alignment; check encoder mounting torque.

    • Overspeed error: Confirm max RPM parameter (4000); check for mechanical binding.
