Description

The A06B-6079-H106 is a single‑axis high‑power Alpha series servo amplifier, designed for demanding CNC and automation applications. It delivers high torque and dynamic response for large FANUC Alpha servo motors, and integrates seamlessly with FANUC CNC systems via the FSSB optical bus.

Specifications

Input

Rated DC input voltage is 283 to 325 VDC, with a rated input power of 9.1 kW. Control power supply is 24 VDC ±10%.

Output

Maximum output voltage is 230 VAC three‑phase. Rated continuous output current is 52.2 A for the L axis. It supports FANUC Alpha servo motors, including models such as α22/3000, α30/2000, α30/3000, α40/2000, αL25/3000, and αL50/2000.

Environmental

Operating temperature ranges from 0°C to +55°C. Storage temperature is -40°C to +85°C. Relative humidity is 10% to 90% non‑condensing.

Mechanical

Dimensions are approximately 380 mm in height, 90 mm in width, and 307 mm in depth. Weight is about 6 kg.

Key Features

High‑performance digital servo control with HRV3 high‑response vector control ensures excellent dynamic behavior and precise contouring. The FSSB optical interface reduces electrical noise and simplifies wiring. A built‑in regenerative resistor handles regenerative energy during deceleration. It includes multiple protection functions such as overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperature, and overload. A cooling fan provides forced air circulation for continuous operation. It supports both incremental and absolute encoder feedback.

Installation and Wiring

Mounting

Install vertically in a well‑ventilated control cabinet. Maintain a minimum clearance of 100 mm around the unit for airflow. Secure the amplifier with mounting screws to prevent vibration.

Power Wiring

Connect the DC link input (283–325 VDC) from the power supply unit to the DC terminals. Connect the 24 VDC control power and emergency stop signals to the CX1A/CX1B connectors.

Motor and Feedback Wiring

Connect the motor power cables U, V, W, and ground to the motor terminals. Connect the encoder or resolver cable to the feedback connector. Use shielded cables for all signal lines and ensure proper earthing to minimize noise.

Safety Precautions

Disconnect all power before performing installation or maintenance. Wait at least five minutes after power‑off for the DC link capacitors to discharge. Do not touch high‑voltage terminals to avoid electric shock. Use only the specified fuses, such as A06B-6077-K250. Repeated alarm trips indicate a system fault; inspect wiring, motor, and amplifier before restarting. Keep the unit away from flammable materials and corrosive gases.

Common Alarm Codes

Alarm 1 indicates the internal fan has stopped. Alarm 2 means low control power voltage. Alarm 5 signals low DC link voltage. Alarm 8 shows L‑axis overcurrent. Alarm 9 indicates M‑axis overcurrent. Alarm A points to N‑axis overcurrent. Alarms IPML, IPMM, and IPMN indicate IPM module faults, such as short circuit or overheating.

Maintenance

Regularly inspect the cooling fan for proper operation and clean it if dusty. Check that all terminal screws are tight and cables are undamaged. Keep the heat sink free of dust buildup. Use only FANUC original replacement parts. Refer to manual B‑65162E for detailed maintenance procedures.

Applications

Suitable for high‑power single‑axis drives in CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, and industrial robots. Ideal for applications requiring high acceleration, large torque, and precise positioning.
