Description
Rolls-Royce Marine RRAIO16 Remote Analog I/O Module
Rolls-Royce Marine RRAIO16 is a marine-grade remote analog I/O module designed for Rolls-Royce POSCON vessel propulsion and monitoring automation systems. This remote analog I/O module integrates analog input and analog output channels for marine field instrument connection. The remote analog I/O module converts sensor analog signals to digital data and outputs analog control commands to field actuators. The remote analog I/O module communicates via marine field bus network to the main propulsion controller.
Analog signal processing is the core function of Rolls-Royce Marine RRAIO16. Analog signal processing receives 4-20mA signals from pressure, temperature and level transmitters onboard. Reliable Analog signal processing converts setpoint commands into analog output signals for control valves and actuators. Configurable Analog signal processing supports channel scaling to match different marine measuring and control devices.
This unit provides robust channel galvanic isolation for marine control loops. channel galvanic isolation prevents electrical interference and ground loop disturbance between field side and control system. Robust channel galvanic isolation protects the main controller from surge and transient voltage damage. Complete channel galvanic isolation improves signal stability in noisy engine room electrical environments.
Rolls-Royce Marine RRAIO16 operates on 24V DC supply voltage and features conformal coated PCB against salt mist and high humidity. It is equipped with LED channel status indicators and pluggable terminal blocks for easy wiring and replacement. Built-in hardware self-test identifies channel faults and communication failures. Widely used on cargo ships, tankers and offshore vessels for controllable pitch propeller control, auxiliary machinery monitoring and valve actuation systems. It is an essential distributed I/O spare part for Rolls-Royce marine POSCON propulsion automation network.
