2. Product Function Description

This coaxial modem sub-board is the core signal conversion plug-in card inside the NIM network interface module, specially responsible for physical layer signal transceiving of the UCN control bus.
It integrates dual coaxial A/B channel interfaces to realize bidirectional conversion between the internal parallel bus of NIM mainboard and UCN coaxial differential signals, replacing the combination of traditional PNM, PNM I/O and PNI I/O independent boards, highly integrated design reduces cabinet space occupation and fault points.
It undertakes real-time data forwarding between LCN upper network and UCN field controller nodes (APM/HPM), supports dual-channel redundant UCN bus hot backup, built-in signal shaping, isolation and surge suppression circuits to resist industrial electromagnetic interference, ensures stable real-time communication of distributed control network. Equipped with complete hardware self-diagnosis function, it monitors coaxial cable open circuit, short circuit, bus communication error and internal power abnormality, and feeds fault status back to the upper station for alarm display.
