5. Installation Instructions
5.1 Safety Precautions
Disconnect all power sources before performing any installation, wiring, or maintenance work.
Ensure the motor and amplifier are properly grounded to prevent electric shock hazards.
Never operate the motor beyond its published rated specifications.
5.2 Mechanical Installation
Inspection: Examine the motor housing, flange, shaft, and keyway for any signs of damage, deformation, or corrosion.
Mounting: Align the motor flange with the machine mounting surface. Tighten the four M8 mounting bolts evenly to a torque of 20–22 Nm to ensure flatness and concentricity.
Shaft Connection: Install a suitable coupling (e.g., bellows, rigid, or jaw type) onto the shaft. Maintain strict coaxiality (≤0.1 mm runout) to avoid vibration, noise, or premature bearing failure.
Shaft Protection: Avoid applying heavy impact, excessive radial loads, or axial pressure to the shaft.
5.3 Electrical Wiring
Cable Selection: Use FANUC-specified power and encoder cables (or their equivalents) with adequate current ratings and shielding.
Power Wiring: Connect the U, V, W, and PE wires to the motor power connector. Torque terminals to 1.5–1.8 Nm.
