It is a DC bus powered unit matched with MR5 series common rectifier power module, widely used for maintenance replacement of legacy Japanese machining centers, milling machines and grinders as original production has been terminated.

2. Model Code Definition

CIMR is fixed prefix of Yaskawa inverter; M5 represents VS-626M5 spindle dedicated series; D stands for digital NC bus control type for CNC system connection; digit 2 means 200V DC bus voltage class; 018 refers to rated 18.5kW matching spindle motor.

3. Electrical Specifications

The drive relies on external MR5 rectifier module to obtain DC270V~325V DC bus input instead of direct AC mains supply. Its rated output capacity is 20.9kVA with rated output current 58A, matched for 18.5kW three-phase spindle motor, output adjustable three-phase AC voltage from 0 to 230V and maximum output frequency up to 600Hz to satisfy high-speed spindle cutting requirement.
It adopts full closed-loop vector control with encoder feedback via CN1 port, supporting 150% rated current overload for 60 seconds to bear heavy intermittent cutting load. Built-in brake chopper supports external braking resistor installation for rapid spindle stop. Comprehensive protection functions cover overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheat, output short-circuit and motor overload protection.

4. Control Features

As D-type CNC bus version, it receives speed command directly via NC system digital bus communication instead of analog signal input. It reserves auxiliary analog and multi-speed terminal control as backup option, with high speed regulation precision below ±0.1% for precision machining application.

5. Environmental and Installation Specifications

Open frame structure with IP00 protection grade, adopting forced air cooling with built-in cooling fan and must be installed inside control cabinet. Operating ambient temperature ranges from 0℃ to 50℃, relative humidity 20%~80% without condensation, applicable installation altitude below 1000 meters.

6. Application Fields

Exclusively applied for main spindle driving of old imported CNC machining centers, vertical milling machines and precision grinders, mainly served as spare replacement for equipment overhaul since official production stop.
