Description
Product Introduction
6SP44020 is a SP600 series high-performance vector AC drive manufactured by Reliance Electric, original production stopped after brand acquisition by Rockwell Automation. Rated at 20HP (15kW) with standard NEMA1 IP20 ventilated enclosure and removable LCD local operator panel. Available market resources include unused original surplus and full-load tested refurbished drives for spare replacement and technical upgrade of legacy fan, pump and conveyor drive equipment across multiple industrial sectors.
Model Definition
6SP is core product code of Reliance SP600 inverter family. The first digit 4 stands for three-phase 380~480VAC input voltage grade. Second digit 4 refers to NEMA1 IP20 standard cabinet structure. 020 corresponds to rated power 20HP(15kW) and matching rated output current. Standard configuration comes with built-in dynamic braking transistor and without factory pre-installed input EMI filter.
Technical Specifications
Rated input: three-phase 380~480VAC, 50/60Hz; output voltage 0~460VAC, adjustable output frequency 0~400Hz, rated continuous output current 30A, nominal power 15kW(20HP). Overload performance: 150% rated current for 60 seconds for heavy startup, 110% rated current for continuous normal operation. Carrier frequency adjustable from 2kHz to 16kHz, protection grade IP20/NEMA1. Operating ambient temperature ranges from -10℃ to +40℃ under cabinet installation, storage temperature -40℃~+85℃, working relative humidity 5%~95% non-condensing. The drive is certified with UL and CSA industrial safety standards, internal brake IGBT is pre-equipped with reserved terminals for external braking resistor wiring.
Interface and Communication Configuration
Detachable LCD OIM on front panel supports onsite parameter setting, real-time operating data display and manual jog operation, and allows remote operator extension via dedicated connecting cable. Main power terminals include R/S/T three-phase power input and U/V/W motor output terminals. Independent control terminal block contains 6-channel digital input, 2-channel analog input compatible with 0~10VDC and 4~20mA signals, and 2-channel relay output for running status and fault feedback signals. Standard onboard RS485 port supports Modbus RTU communication for centralized PLC control, and optional DeviceNet expansion card is available for industrial fieldbus networking.
Core Functions
It supports dual control modes of V/F open-loop control and sensorless vector control, with automatic motor parameter identification function to quickly match connected asynchronous motor parameters. Built-in PID closed-loop control realizes constant pressure and constant flow regulation specially suitable for fan and pump loads, and multiple preset multi-speed parameters can be configured for step speed operation. Configurable stop modes include ramp stop, S-curve deceleration, DC injection braking and free coast stop to meet various load demands. Comprehensive protection covers overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, heatsink overheat, input phase loss, output short-circuit and motor overload; historical fault codes are stored for maintenance troubleshooting, and automatic restart function is available after transient power fluctuation recovery.
Application Scenarios
This drive is widely used for medium-power industrial loads such as industrial circulating water pump, large ventilation fan, medium-duty production line conveyor, chemical process auxiliary transmission and cement packaging equipment. It serves as key spare part for routine maintenance and renovation of outdated automation equipment in water treatment, building ventilation, chemical and metallurgical auxiliary industries.
Operation and Maintenance Instructions
Disconnect three-phase main power supply and wait at least 30 minutes for full discharge of internal DC bus capacitors before cabinet opening, wiring change or component inspection. Conduct quarterly maintenance to clean dust on heatsink and internal circuit with dry low-pressure compressed air, and retighten all power and control terminal screws to avoid overheating caused by loose contact. In case of frequent overload protection without actual motor winding damage, check motor nameplate parameter setup and field working load first before drive replacement. Select matched external braking resistor per factory specification when applying dynamic braking function, and prevent high voltage misconnection to low-voltage control terminals to avoid internal circuit burnout.
