Description
Product Introduction
6SP401-011CTAN is a high-performance sensorless vector AC variable frequency drive from Reliance SP600 product family. The original production has been terminated after brand acquisition by Rockwell Automation. This unit is rated at 7.5HP (5.5kW) with standard NEMA1 IP20 enclosure and comes with detachable LCD local operator interface. Available market supply includes unused original surplus inventory and fully load-tested refurbished drives for spare replacement and technical upgrading of legacy fan, pump and conveyor drive systems across multiple industrial fields.
Model Definition
6SP401 represents base series code for SP600 480V-class inverter platform. 011 stands for rated continuous output current of 11A matching 7.5HP/5.5kW power rating. C denotes three-phase 380~480VAC input voltage specification. T indicates built-in dynamic braking transistor inside power circuit. A refers to NEMA1 IP20 standard ventilated enclosure. N means standard configuration without factory pre-installed input EMI filter.
Technical Specifications
Rated input power is three-phase 380~480VAC with 50/60Hz input frequency. Output voltage ranges from 0 to 460VAC and output frequency covers 0~400Hz, with nominal continuous output current at 11A and rated power 5.5kW(7.5HP). Overload capability supports 150% rated current lasting 60 seconds for heavy startup load and 110% rated current for continuous normal operation. Carrier frequency is adjustable between 2kHz and 16kHz, with protection rating IP20/NEMA1. Operating ambient temperature ranges from -10℃ to +40℃ under cabinet installation condition, storage temperature spans -40℃ to +85℃ and working relative humidity is 5%~95% within non-condensing environment. The drive has passed UL and CSA industrial safety certification, and internal brake IGBT is pre-equipped with reserved terminals for external dynamic braking resistor connection.
Interface and Communication Configuration
Detachable LCD OIM keypad is mounted on front panel for onsite parameter configuration, real-time operating data monitoring and manual jog control, and it supports remote operator extension via exclusive connecting port. Main power terminal area includes R/S/T three-phase power input terminals and U/V/W motor output terminals. The independent control terminal block is configured with 6-channel digital input, 2-channel analog input compatible with 0~10VDC and 4~20mA signals as well as 2-channel relay output for equipment running status and fault signal feedback. Standard onboard RS485 port supports Modbus RTU communication protocol for centralized PLC network control, and optional DeviceNet expansion card can be installed to realize industrial fieldbus networking.
Core Functions
The drive supports dual control modes including V/F open-loop control and sensorless vector control, and integrates automatic motor parameter identification function for fast matching of connected asynchronous motors. Built-in closed-loop PID algorithm is available for constant pressure and constant flow control which fits pump and fan application demands, meanwhile multiple preset speed parameters can be set for multi-step speed operation. Various stop options such as ramp stop, S-curve deceleration, DC injection braking and free coast stop are configurable to satisfy different load characteristics. Comprehensive protection functions cover overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, heatsink overheat, input phase loss, output short-circuit and motor overload; historical fault codes can be stored for post-failure troubleshooting, and the unit is equipped with automatic restart function after transient power dip recovery.
Application Scenarios
This drive is widely deployed on medium-small power industrial loads including workshop circulating water pumps, factory ventilation fans, light-duty conveying equipment, packaging auxiliary motors, textile processing machinery and food production transmission units. It serves as critical replacement spare for routine maintenance and equipment retrofitting of outdated automation systems in water treatment, building ventilation and light chemical industries.
Operation and Maintenance Instructions
Cut off three-phase main power supply and wait at least 30 minutes for full discharge of internal DC bus capacitors before cabinet opening, wiring modification or component inspection. Implement quarterly routine maintenance by cleaning dust accumulated on heatsink and internal circuit with dry low-pressure compressed air, and retighten all power and control terminal screws to prevent loose connection induced overheating damage. In case of frequent overload protection without actual motor winding failure, recheck motor nameplate parameter setup and onsite working load condition first before drive replacement. Select matched external braking resistor strictly following factory specification when configuring dynamic braking function, and avoid wrong high voltage access to low voltage control terminals to prevent internal circuit burnout.
