Product Introduction
61C326 is the I/O Saver interface module belonging to Reliance 61C series AutoMax/AutoMate control system, serving as dedicated protocol conversion adapter between Reliance AutoMate rail I/O system and Allen-Bradley remote I/O communication network. It realizes seamless data interaction between Reliance distributed rail I/O and AB PLC mainframe, enabling original Reliance digital and analog rail modules to be mounted on AB remote I/O bus without replacing existing field I/O hardware. The product has been fully discontinued by original manufacturer Reliance Electric, subsequent ABB and Baldor follow-up production also terminated; available stock mainly includes surplus unused original modules and fully load-tested refurbished spare units for old equipment retrofit and maintenance replacement.
Model Definition
61C represents the general product code of Reliance AutoMate rail I/O accessory module family; 3XX stands for cross-system communication adapter subclass inside 61C series; numeral 26 is fixed model code for AB remote I/O matching version, distinguishing from other 61C3XX analog or communication modules of same series.
Technical Specifications
Rated input supply: 120VAC/240VAC dual option, rated input current 0.5A under 120VAC, 0.25A under 240VAC, applicable frequency 50Hz/60Hz. Continuous operating ambient temperature range: -20℃ ~ +60℃, storage temperature: -40℃ ~ +85℃, working relative humidity 5%~95% non-condensing. Standard single-width plug-in size matching AutoMax main rack installation dimension, built-in overcurrent fuse and internal surge protection circuit, complies with CE industrial safety certification standard.
Interface and Communication Configuration
Front panel equips two types of wiring interfaces: dedicated terminal port for Reliance AutoMate rail bus connection to local I/O head, digital rail or analog rail modules; dedicated communication terminal for AB remote I/O link bus wiring to Allen-Bradley PLC remote network. Rear golden finger connector supports plugging into AutoMax main control rack slot for direct backplane bus access. Multiple status LED indicators arranged on front face to display power supply status, bus communication running state and channel fault alarm information separately. No extra independent RS485 or Modbus external communication interface reserved by factory default.
Core Functions
Complete bidirectional protocol conversion between Reliance proprietary rail I/O bus and Allen-Bradley remote I/O fieldbus protocol, translate I/O signal data format for cross-brand system transmission.
Collect DI/DO and analog signal data from all connected AutoMate rail modules and upload packaged data to AB host PLC via remote I/O bus, meanwhile parse control commands from AB controller and distribute down to each field rail I/O unit.
Real-time monitor rail power condition and bus communication link status, trigger fault indicator once short circuit, overload or communication dropout occurs, and feed fault code back to upper AB PLC for system alarm prompting.
Isolate electrical interference between two different brand control bus systems to prevent field-side abnormal surge from damaging master station equipment of either PLC platform.
Application Scenarios
Mainly applied for old factory control system upgrading reconstruction projects, including papermaking, metallurgy, cement, textile production line equipment transformation which reserves original Reliance field rail I/O while upgrading main control cabinet to Allen-Bradley PLC platform. Also used as spare replacement for aging cross-brand integrated automation system in power auxiliary equipment and general machinery automation production lines.
Operation and Maintenance Instructions
Cut off total AC power of the connected rack and wait over 20 minutes for internal capacitor complete discharge before plugging or removing the module. Perform quarterly routine inspection to check terminal wiring tightness and pin oxidation degree, clear internal accumulated dust with dry compressed air. Avoid long-term full-load connection of multiple I/O rails exceeding module rated carrying capacity. When communication failure appears, firstly check external AB bus wiring and field rail peripheral modules, replace 61C326 only after eliminating all external abnormal troubles.
