Description
Product Introduction
57C491 is a high-speed analog output module for Reliance AutoMax distributed control system. It converts digital control instructions sent from AutoMax main processor into standard industrial analog signals to drive field valve actuators, frequency converters and regulating instruments. The module uses standard plug-in layout matching AutoMax rack backplane and works with CPU and various I/O cards to build closed-loop process control systems. Original mass production has been discontinued, and this product is mainly provided as spare replacement for legacy industrial equipment maintenance and automation upgrade projects.
Model Definition
57C serves as unified series identifier of Reliance AutoMax plug-in functional modules. 491 is exclusive fixed part number defined for multi-channel analog output card. Any trailing letter like A stands for revised hardware edition with refined output drive circuit and enhanced anti-surge performance compared with base standard version.
Technical Specifications
The module draws rated 5VDC power directly from rack backplane with acceptable input voltage from 4.75VDC to 5.25VDC. It supports mainstream industrial analog output specifications including 4-20mA current signal and 0-10VDC voltage signal. Each output channel is equipped with independent short-circuit protection circuit to prevent internal component damage from field wiring fault. Normal operating ambient temperature ranges from 0 degree Celsius to 55 degree Celsius, storage temperature spans minus 25 degree Celsius to 70 degree Celsius, applicable relative humidity keeps 5 percent to 95 percent under non-condensing environment. Onboard digital-to-analog conversion chip ensures stable signal precision under regular industrial electromagnetic interference.
Interface and Communication Configuration
Rear gold finger connector links AutoMax proprietary internal backplane bus to receive cyclic digital control data and channel configuration parameters from rack main processor. Front panel installs terminal block for field actuator wiring connection, with independent status LED for each channel to display output working status and abnormal alarm information. Data transmission between module and CPU follows AutoMax dedicated backplane communication protocol, and no independent external fieldbus port is arranged on this output module.
Core Functions
It receives digital setpoint values from AutoMax controller via backplane bus, finishes digital-to-analog conversion and signal conditioning to generate standard continuous analog signals for field execution devices. It executes real-time closed-loop output adjustment according to operational logic calculated by main CPU to complete flow, pressure and temperature closed-loop regulation on production site. It automatically detects short-circuit and overload faults on each output channel, cuts off abnormal channel output and triggers corresponding alarm flag to protect module and peripheral field equipment. It retains preset channel range parameters after short-time power failure to avoid repeated parameter configuration after temporary power cut.
Application Scenarios
This module is widely applied for closed-loop regulation control of chemical auxiliary workshop process pipelines, metallurgical rolling line cooling water system and cement raw material feeding equipment on legacy AutoMax control cabinets. It is commonly used for valve position adjustment in water treatment dosing control cabinet, as well as temperature regulation renovation of textile drying ovens and industrial heating furnaces. It also serves as replacement spare part for papermaking equipment flow control cabinet fault repair.
Operation and Maintenance Instructions
Cut off total rack power supply before module installation and field wiring, check circuit board for bent pins, detached components or surface corrosion, insert module into specified empty slot and lock front fixing buckle firmly to avoid poor contact caused by long-term mechanical vibration. Complete output range and signal type configuration through upper computer programming software after installation, carry out no-load analog signal test to confirm normal output of all channels before connecting on-site loads. Conduct periodic maintenance under full power-off state, remove accumulated dust on module shell and wiring terminals with dry compressed air. Hot plugging while rack is powered on is strictly forbidden to prevent backplane short-circuit burnout. When continuous channel abnormal alarm happens without field circuit fault, isolate equipment power and send module to professional maintenance inspection, unauthorized disassembly of original sealed internal circuit is prohibited.
