RELIANCE 57C442B second revised DH+ bus communication interface module

57C442B is the second revised DH+ bus communication interface module of Reliance AutoMax distributed control system, upgraded iteration based on 57C442 and 57C442-A versions. It acts as dedicated protocol conversion bridge between AutoMax rack backplane bus and Allen-Bradley DH+ fieldbus to realize bidirectional data interaction between AutoMax mainframe controller and Rockwell series PLC, HMI and field networking equipment. The B revision optimizes internal PCB layout, upgrades communication transceiver chip and improves full-circuit EMC anti-interference design compared with A edition, further enhancing stability under severe vibration and strong electromagnetic industrial site. Standard plug-in card structure matches general AutoMax system rack slots, multiple modules can be deployed in one cabinet to expand multi-group independent DH+ communication channels. Original factory formal production has been terminated, the product is only supplied as spare replacement for old automation equipment renovation and fault replacement projects.

Description

Product Introduction

Model Definition

57C represents unified serial coding of Reliance AutoMax plug-in functional modules. 442 is fixed part number for DH+ dedicated communication gateway card. Suffix B stands for second-generation hardware revised version with updated peripheral circuit, optimized memory control logic and upgraded surge suppression component compared with original base version and A revision model.

Technical Specifications

The module draws 5VDC working power directly from rack backplane, allowable input voltage range is 4.75VDC to 5.25VDC, typical rated operating current is 650mA. Equipped with onboard 8MHz dedicated processing core and 32KB high-reliability dual-port cache memory for cross-protocol real-time data buffering and statistical data storage, independent dedicated storage partition is reserved for network operation log recording. DH+ bus fixed communication baud rate is 57.6Kbps, single trunk line supports maximum 32 network node access. Normal working ambient temperature ranges from 0 degree Celsius to 55 degree Celsius, storage temperature spans minus 25 degree Celsius to 70 degree Celsius, applicable ambient relative humidity is 5% to 95% without condensation. Built-in hardware watchdog circuit and enhanced filtering circuit effectively restrain interference from on-site large inverter and high-power driving motor, automatic real-time monitoring of internal operating state is realized.

Interface and Communication Configuration

Rear gold finger connector is used for docking AutoMax proprietary backplane bus to complete high-speed data transmission with rack CPU and local I/O modules. Front panel is equipped with shielded terminal block for DH+ twisted-pair cable wiring, matched with green running status LED indicator, two-digit thumbwheel switch for DH+ station address setting and seven-segment digital fault code display window. The module fully complies with standard AB DH+ peer-to-peer communication protocol, automatically completes address mapping between AutoMax internal register area and AB PLC data file address to realize transparent cross-system data reading and writing, supports online bus node address modification without interrupting main control operation.

Core Functions

It completes bidirectional protocol conversion between AutoMax private backplane bus and DH+ industrial fieldbus. It uploads on-site analog quantity, switching value signal and equipment operating parameters collected by AutoMax control system to DH+ network, and converts remote downlink control commands from external Rockwell PLC into identifiable bus signal for AutoMax main processor execution. It realizes cross-node real-time data sharing and interlock signal transmission among all devices accessing the same DH+ bus network. Continuous automatic detection of bus line state is built in, fault mark and cache data locking will be triggered once circuit open, short circuit or remote node offline happens to avoid data loss. Remote online program download, parameter debugging and running state monitoring of AutoMax controller can be finished through upper monitoring host connected to DH+ bus.

Application Scenarios

It is widely used in control cabinet upgrading of metallurgical rolling line, bulk material conveying equipment and chemical auxiliary production process with legacy AutoMax system to connect original Reliance control unit to factory existing Rockwell DH+ distributed network. It is applied in centralized transformation of water plant pump and fan interlock control cabinet, as well as automation reconstruction of traditional textile machinery, printing equipment and industrial heating furnace control system to access factory central monitoring network. It also serves as replacement spare part for old papermaking, cement industry retired AutoMax control system communication fault maintenance.

Operation and Maintenance Instructions

Cut off overall rack power supply before installation, check circuit board for pin deformation, component shedding and corrosion damage, insert module into specified vacant slot and lock front fixing buckle tightly to prevent poor contact caused by long-term mechanical vibration. Complete DH+ station address setting via front panel thumbwheel after installation, perform no-load communication debugging with external AB PLC to confirm stable data transmission before formal system commissioning. Regular maintenance must be carried out under full power-off state, blow away dust accumulated on module surface and wiring terminals with dry compressed air. Live hot plugging and unplugging is strictly prohibited to prevent backplane short-circuit burnout. When persistent indicator abnormal flicker and frequent bus disconnection occur, cut off equipment power and deliver module to professional maintenance personnel for circuit inspection, private disassembly of original sealed internal circuit is forbidden.
