7. Installation Guidelines
Mounting: Install the motor on a rigid, vibration-free surface using the flange mounting holes. Ensure the mounting surface is flat to avoid mechanical stress.
Shaft Alignment: Align the motor shaft with the load shaft precisely to prevent misalignment-induced vibration and wear.
Cabling: Use shielded cables for power and encoder connections to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). Follow FANUC’s wiring diagrams for proper connection.
Brake Wiring: Connect the 24VDC brake power supply correctly. The brake is released when 24VDC is applied and engaged when power is cut off.
Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the motor to prevent overheating. Do not block the motor’s heat dissipation areas.
8. Maintenance
Regular Inspection: Periodically check the motor for abnormal noise, vibration, or overheating. Inspect cables and connectors for damage or looseness.
Lubrication: The motor’s bearings are pre-lubricated and sealed for life under normal operating conditions. No regular lubrication is required.
Cleaning: Keep the motor clean and free of dust, debris, and moisture. Use a dry cloth to wipe the motor surface; avoid using water or harsh chemicals.
Encoder Care: The encoder is a precision component. Avoid impact or vibration to the encoder. Keep the encoder cable intact and properly connected.
Brake Check: Regularly test the brake’s holding torque to ensure it functions correctly, especially in safety-critical applications.
9. Safety Precautions
Electrical Safety: Disconnect all power supplies before performing installation, maintenance, or repair work on the motor. Wait at least 15 minutes for internal capacitors to discharge to avoid electric shock.
Mechanical Safety: Do not touch the rotating shaft or moving parts during motor operation. Ensure the load is securely fixed before starting the motor.
Environmental Safety: Do not use the motor in explosive, flammable, or corrosive environments unless it is specially modified for such conditions.
Warranty Note: The product warranty does not cover damage caused by liquids, improper installation, misuse, or unauthorized modification.
10. Troubleshooting
Motor Fails to Start: Check power supply connections, brake release signal, and amplifier status. Verify no alarm codes are present in the servo system.
Abnormal Noise/Vibration: Inspect shaft alignment, mounting rigidity, and bearing condition. Check for loose components or damaged encoder.
Overheating: Verify ambient temperature is within range, ventilation is adequate, and load is not excessive. Check for motor winding insulation failure.
Positioning Inaccuracy: Check encoder connection, cable integrity, and servo parameter settings. Verify no mechanical backlash in the transmission system.
