Honeywell FC-QPP-0002 | FSC/Safety Manager Pulse Counting Module

Product Introduction FC-QPP-0002 is a special SIL3 pulse counting I/O card for the HONEYWELL FSC/SM safety system, used for collecting the rotational speed of the unit, pulse signals from flow meters, and encoder signals. It serves for ESD protection and unit overspeed interlock protection, following the QMR quadruple redundancy safety architecture.

Description

Model Interpretation

FC = FSC Safety System Series; QPP = Quadrature Pulse Processor; 0002 = Hardware Version Number. Technical Specifications

Back panel dual power supply, 5V/24VDC power supply, power consumption approximately 2.2W; 4 independent pulse input channels;

Support NPN/PNP levels, passive contacts, A/B phase quadrature encoder pulses;

Maximum input frequency 100kHz; Measurement accuracy ±1 pulse;

TÜV SIL3, FM, UL explosion-proof certification; Operating temperature -20℃ to +60℃, 5% to 95% RH without condensation; Standard 3U European rack size.

Interface and communication configuration

Panel equipped with power, operation, fault, and channel status indicator lights;

Gold fingers connect to the FSC rack back panel, through the internal safety bus and the main control for communication;

Complementary dedicated FTA terminal base, on-site sensor cables are connected to the base, and cable connectors are connected.

Core functions

Four independent pulse counting, instantaneous frequency/rotational speed conversion; A/B phase forward/reverse rotation discrimination;

Hardware anti-shake filtering, anti-site contact jitter error counting; Open circuit, short circuit self-diagnosis, fault upload to the safety controller;

Fault safety design, card abnormality causes safe disengagement, avoiding false interlock. Applicable scenarios

Steam turbine / compressor overspeed protection ESD cabinet, unit speed safety monitoring, combustible gas flowmeter safety cumulative interlock, large pump group speed interlock system.

Operation and maintenance instructions

Pulse cables use shielded twisted pair, single-point cabinet grounded; modules support hot-swappable with power on in the rack;

Configuration is set in Safety Builder software for pulse coefficient and overspeed alarm threshold;

Regularly tighten the terminal connections of the base, to avoid false connection causing loss of pulse count.
