Honeywell 8C-PCNT01 (Series 8 High-Speed Pulse Counting Module, C300 DCS System)
Description
Model Interpretation
8C = Series8 I/O module; PCNT = Pulse Counter; 01 = Initial standard 8-channel hardware version. Technical Specifications
Power Supply: 24VDC power supply on the backplane of the rack, with the overall power consumption approximately 2W
Channels: 8 independent pulse input channels, with the maximum input frequency of each channel up to 1MHz
Input Signals: NPN/PNP passive contacts, 5V/24V level pulses, encoder A/B phase quadrature pulses
Measurement Accuracy: Pulse counting ±1 pulse error, frequency measurement accuracy 0.01% FS
Operating Environment: -20℃ to +60℃, relative humidity 5% to 95% without condensation; CE and UL explosion-proof certifications, suitable for chemical explosion-proof areas
Dimensions: 144×108×50mm, net weight approximately 0.32kg
Interface and Communication Configuration
Panel: LED indicators for power, operation, fault, and channel status;
Backplane: Gold finger plug-in for C300 rack bus, data interaction through I/O Link bus and CC-PCNT controller;
Field Wiring: Equipped with dedicated IOTA terminal base, 8-channel pulse signal lines are separately connected to the terminal of the base;
System Communication: Data is uploaded to the C300 main control via the backplane, relying on FTE Ethernet and the upper HMI to exchange measurement data.
Core Functions
8-channel independent pulse accumulation, instantaneous frequency conversion, supports one-way counting, A/B phase bidirectional increment/decrement counting;
Hardware filtering to suppress interference from on-site cables and contact jitter, avoiding pulse miscounting;
Software setting of count upper limit alarm, automatically triggering interlock signal upon reaching the set value;
Channel disconnection, short circuit self-diagnosis, fault location displayed in the pop-up window of the upper system;
Support for flow accumulation, real-time speed conversion, displacement length conversion, suitable for trade measurement and settlement logic. Applicable scenarios
Refining / Chemical Raw Materials Trading Flow Meter Measurement, Power Plant Fan / Turbine Speed Monitoring, Coal Chemical Quantitative Loading Control System, Water Plant Flow Meter Cumulative Statistics, Metallurgical Production Line Encoder Position Acquisition.
Operation and Maintenance Instructions
For on-site pulse cables, use shielded twisted pair cables, with the shielded layer grounded at one end of the cabinet;
Modules support hot-swappable power-on insertion, and after replacing spare parts, the system will automatically download parameters, without the need for reconfiguration;
Regularly check the wiring of the terminal base to ensure it is tightened; for humid conditions, take measures to prevent the terminals from getting damp;
Module parameters are configured in the Experion configuration software for counting mode, range, and alarm threshold.
