Description

1. General Description

SGMG-06AWB belongs to Yaskawa Sigma 1 medium inertia AC servo motor series with rated output power of 0.6kW. It is designed to pair with SGDB-05AD and SGDB-05VD SERVOPACK drivers under 200V input voltage level. This model is equipped with standard incremental encoder of 2000 pulses per revolution without built-in backup battery, and no electromagnetic holding brake is installed on motor body. It adopts flange mounting structure with IP55 protection rating, widely applied for robot external axes, automatic positioning platforms, conveying machinery and general industrial automation equipment.

2. Electrical and Mechanical Specifications

The rated input voltage is three-phase AC200V and rated working current is 5.7A. Rated rotation speed is 3000 revolutions per minute with continuous rated torque reaching 1.91 N·m, while peak instantaneous torque can hit 5.73 N·m which equals three times of rated torque. The rotor inertia is 1.12×10⁻⁴ kilogram square meter, and the maximum permissible load inertia connected to output shaft shall not exceed fifteen times the motor rotor inertia. The no-load maximum rotation speed is limited at 4500 revolutions per minute. Motor winding insulation conforms to Class B standard.
Operating ambient temperature ranges from 0 degree Celsius to +40 degree Celsius, and storage temperature spans from minus 20 degree Celsius to +85 degree Celsius. Working environment relative humidity is controlled between 20% and 80% without condensation phenomenon. The overall net weight of the servo motor is approximately 2.3 kilograms.

3. Connector Definition

3.1 Main Power Terminal CN1

Terminal U, V and W are used for three-phase winding power connection, and PE terminal is dedicated for protective earthing connection.

3.2 Encoder Connector CN2 (20-pin incremental type)

A and /A pins transmit differential phase-A signals; B and /B pins carry differential phase-B signals; Z and /Z pins output differential origin Z-phase signals. +5V and 0V terminals supply working power for internal encoder component, and FG pin serves as shielding ground for encoder cable. It is required to adopt shielded twisted dedicated servo cable for encoder wiring; power cable and encoder cable should be separated by more than 30 centimeters to reduce electromagnetic interference.

4. Installation Guidance

Cut off relevant power supply completely before installation work. Operators need to wear anti-static wristband to prevent static damage to internal encoder components. Fix the motor via standard flange mounting holes and fasten installation screws evenly with specified torque. Ensure proper alignment between motor output shaft and load shaft to avoid eccentric load or abnormal shaft friction. After mechanical assembly finishes, connect power cable and encoder cable strictly following terminal definition, confirm reliable earthing of PE and FG terminals.

5. Operation Environment & Maintenance

Avoid installing the motor in places with corrosive gas, oil mist or continuous water splashing. Conduct regular inspection on cable aging condition and terminal fastening status every six months. Clean dust accumulated on motor housing surface with dry compressed air under power-off state. Discontinue operation immediately if abnormal vibration, unusual noise or excessive surface temperature rise occurs during running.

6. Safety Notes

Only professionally trained maintenance personnel are allowed to carry out wiring, disassembly and maintenance operations. Never perform wiring work under live power status to prevent electric shock hazard. Do not modify internal motor circuit structure or replace non-standard spare parts arbitrarily, otherwise related warranty will become invalid.
