Description
1. Product Overview
SGDM-01ADA is a 100W AC digital servo amplifier belonging to Yaskawa Sigma-II (Σ-II) standard universal servo series, originally made in Japan and now end-of-life official production, widely matched with SGMAH-01 series 0.1kW rotary servo motors rated at 3000rpm.Model definition breakdown: SGDM stands for Sigma-II standard servo driver platform; digit 01 means rated output power 0.1kW/100W; A indicates single-phase AC200~230V main power input; DA refers to universal dual command type supporting both pulse position instruction and analog speed/torque analog input, realizing three control mode free switching among Position / Speed / Torque without hardware modification. This model features compact DIN rail installation structure and natural air cooling design, targeted for small precision automation positioning, feeding and indexing equipment.
2. Electrical Rating Specifications
Main power input is single-phase AC 200V~230V, 50/60Hz with rated input current 2.0A; three-phase variable output ranges from AC0~230V, output frequency 0~300Hz, continuous rated output current 0.91A, with 300% short-time overload capacity within several seconds to bear startup shock load.Control circuit power is taken from main power supply without independent external DC24V auxiliary power supply. The drive adopts IGBT full sine-wave PWM modulation drive, supporting 20-bit serial incremental encoder and optional absolute serial encoder feedback for high-precision closed-loop positioning control. Overall net weight is about 0.77kg, protection grade IP10 (IP1X), passive natural convection cooling without built-in cooling fan.
3. Control Function & Interface Description
Three core connectors are equipped on the servo unit: CN1 general control signal terminal, CN2 encoder feedback port and CN3 optional serial communication port for PC debugging.CN1 accepts two types of external control commands: high-speed pulse train for position control (differential line driver / open-collector pulse input compatible, max input frequency up to 500kpps with adjustable electronic gear ratio), plus 0~±10V analog voltage input for speed and torque mode command, enabling flexible parameter switching of three working modes via internal parameters.CN2 is exclusively used for wiring serial encoder cable from matched SGMAH servo motor to complete real-time position closed-loop feedback. CN3 RS232 serial interface connects with SigmaWin PC tuning software for parameter upload/download, real-time running data monitoring, automatic adaptive resonance suppression and auto gain tuning functions.Built-in complete safety protection programs including overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overload, overspeed, encoder disconnection, heat overheat and wiring short-circuit alarm functions; fault codes are displayed on front digital LED panel, and fault state locks until power reset or external alarm reset signal input.
4. Ambient & Installation Requirements
Permitted working ambient temperature ranges from 0°C to +55°C; storage environment temperature is -20°C ~ +85°C. Relative working humidity shall not exceed 90% RH with no condensation, and installation site must avoid corrosive gas, heavy dust, liquid splash and direct sunlight exposure.Mount vertically on standard DIN rail; reserve more than 25mm empty space at top and bottom of driver for smooth natural heat dissipation. During wiring layout, separate high-power motor cable and low-voltage control signal cable to reduce electromagnetic interference, and single-end ground all shielding layers of signal wires to improve anti-interference performance.
5. Wiring & Commissioning Guidance
Cut off all input power and wait over 10 minutes to fully discharge internal main circuit capacitor before wiring operation to prevent electric shock risk. Connect single-phase AC200~230V commercial power to main input terminals, U/V/W three output terminals to corresponding three power leads of SGMAH-01 motor, and PE protective ground terminal reliably to equipment grounding bar.Set control mode, electronic gear ratio, max motor speed, soft start/stop time and limit switch logic via front panel keypad or SigmaWin software after wiring inspection. Complete no-load jog running test firstly to check abnormal noise, vibration or mechanical stuck; then assemble mechanical load and perform low-speed trial operation before full-load formal production running.
6. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Instructions
Overcurrent alarm mostly caused by motor cable short-circuit, internal motor winding damage or mechanical locked rotor; encoder failure alarm comes from loose CN2 connector or broken feedback wire; undervoltage protection triggers when input supply voltage is too low or loose main power terminals. Remove failure source then power cycle to clear alarm state.Check terminal screw tightness and cable insulation aging every half year. If the servo unit is stored idle for more than 12 consecutive months, conduct 30 minutes no-load energization before formal loaded operation to activate internal electrolytic capacitor and extend service life. No fan maintenance needed for passive cooling design, just keep surrounding installation space clean of accumulated dust regularly.
7. Typical Application Scope
Commonly applied for small automatic assembly stoppers, miniature equipment feeding mechanism, testing instrument fine adjustment transmission, small engraving machine feed axis, precision fixture indexing and fixed-length cutting machinery requiring multi-mode high-precision motion control.
