Description

1. General Introduction

SGDC-20AJAY10 is a customized variant of Yaskawa SGDC-20AJA, belonging to Sigma I series three-phase AC servo drive, rated output power 2kW for precise servo motor motion control, widely used in automation equipment, machining, automated production line and robotic positioning applications. This unit is factory customized with Y10 option function for special I/O or communication configuration based on standard SGDC-20AJA hardware platform.

2. Safety Precaution Instructions

All safety rules must be strictly followed before installation, wiring and power-on operation to avoid personal injury and equipment burnout.
Never apply power before completing full wiring and mechanical assembly of servo motor and load. Unexpected startup of motor may cause severe mechanical injury or fatal accident. Remove all operators from machine operating area when energizing the drive. Secure motor coupling, shaft key and mechanical load tightly before power supply connection.
Do not modify internal circuit structure of the drive arbitrarily without official guide from Yaskawa. Any unauthorized disassembly or circuit change will void product warranty and lead to permanent damage of drive unit.
Keep the installation environment away from flammable gas, dust, water splash and corrosive chemical vapor. Stop operation immediately once abnormal smoke, overheating or strange noise appears on the drive, cut off main power supply first before troubleshooting.
Disconnect input power and wait at least 15 minutes for internal capacitor full discharge before opening drive housing for maintenance or wiring modification to prevent electric shock from residual high voltage.

3. Electrical Specification Description

Rated input is three-phase AC 200V class, internal DC bus operating range 280VDC~330VDC, rated input current 10.4A, maximum continuous output current to servo motor reaches 19A, supporting output voltage 0~230VAC three-phase for matched Yaskawa 2kW AC servo motor.
Compatible power grid frequency covers 50Hz and 60Hz for global industrial power environment. The drive adopts natural air cooling mode via shell heat sink, no built-in cooling fan required for normal running under rated load condition.
SGDC-20AJAY10 Y10 suffix stands for customized optional function, including exclusive defined digital input/output terminals or partial special communication protocol which differs from standard SGDC-20AJA model, check terminal label for customized port definition before wiring.

4. Installation Guide

Install the drive vertically on flat metal mounting surface, leave enough ventilation clearance around drive body for heat dissipation; reserve more than 50mm empty space on upper and lower sides, over 30mm space on left and right sides of the unit.
Fix mounting screw tightly to prevent vibration loosening during equipment high-speed operation. Ambient working temperature shall be controlled within 0℃ to +55℃, storage temperature range from -20℃ to +70℃; avoid installing the unit under direct sunlight or near heating source.
Ambient relative humidity shall be below 90% non-condensing; condensation inside drive will trigger short-circuit fault once powered on.

5. Wiring Operation Rules

Separate power wiring and control signal wiring during cabling layout to reduce electromagnetic interference: thick power cable for main AC input and motor output, shielded twisted cable for encoder feedback wire and external control I/O signal.
Connect protective earth terminal of drive reliably to equipment grounding bus to suppress surge voltage and improve anti-interference performance.
Confirm all power terminal wiring sequence matches label marking before power test; wrong phase sequence or reversed positive-negative DC wiring will directly damage internal power module of SERVOPACK.
All control signal wiring shall cut off external control power before plugging or unplugging terminal connectors to avoid instantaneous impulse current damaging drive control circuit.

6. Parameter Setting & Operation Instruction

After completing wiring inspection, execute drive power-on and initial parameter configuration according to matched servo motor model. Complete motor auto-tuning procedure before formal load running: auto-tuning automatically identifies motor internal resistance, inductance and encoder parameter to optimize servo control gain, ensuring positioning accuracy and running stability.
This drive supports three core control modes: position control for precise fixed-point positioning, speed control for constant rotation speed operation and torque control for tension or constant-load output applications; switch working mode via related function parameter setting according to actual machine requirement.
Real-time monitoring function is built inside the drive, users can check running temperature, output current, bus voltage and fault code through front panel display or upper computer communication, realizing early abnormal detection and preventive maintenance.
Y10 customized option function parameters need to refer to factory supplementary parameter sheet, these special parameters are not contained in standard SGDC-20AJA parameter list.

7. Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting

When drive stops running and fault code appears on display, cut off input power first then check corresponding fault reason: overcurrent fault usually caused by motor wiring short circuit or motor coil damage; overvoltage fault comes from abnormal grid surge or fast mechanical braking without external brake resistance; overheating fault results from poor ventilation environment or long-time overload running.
For encoder communication fault, check encoder wire breakage, loose connector or wiring pin offset; after eliminating fault trigger factor, reset fault status by power cycle or panel reset key before restart operation.
If repeated same fault occurs after regular troubleshooting, stop using and send drive for professional maintenance to avoid secondary damage of drive and matched servo motor.

8. Daily Maintenance & Storage

Regularly clean dust accumulated on drive heat sink every 3 to 6 months according to on-site dust concentration, blockage of heat sink will cause continuous overheating alarm under heavy load.
Periodically fasten loose terminal screws to prevent poor contact from generating heating spot during long-term operation.
For long-term unused storage, place the drive in dry, room-temperature sealed environment with anti-moisture protection; if stored over one year, perform no-load power-on test for 30 minutes before formal equipment assembly and application.

9. Application Scope

This 2kW SGDC-20AJAY10 servo drive applies to CNC small machining equipment, automated feeding mechanism, packaging machinery, semiconductor processing equipment and multi-axis synchronous robotic arm motion control field.
