JANCD-XMM01

JANCD-XMM01 is an expansion memory board for Yaskawa Motoman XRC1000 / XRC2001 robot controllers, used to extend CMOS/program memory.

Description

1. Overview

  • Type: Memory expansion PCB (optional module)

  • Controller: XRC1000, XRC2001 (XRC series only)

  • Function: 4 MB additional CMOS memory for user programs, jobs, and system data

  • Part number: JANCD-XMM01; common revision JANCD-XMM01-2

  • Status: Obsolete; available as refurbished/used

2. Specifications

  • Memory size: 4 MB (CMOS, non‑volatile)

  • Power: 24 VDC ±10% (20.4–28.8 VDC)

  • Current draw: ~270 mA idle, ~1.5 A operating, 6 A surge

  • Max power dissipation: 10 W

  • Backplane current limit: 3 A

  • Operating temp: 0 °C ~ +40 °C

  • Dimensions: ~100 × 100 × 25 mm (4 × 4 × 1 in)

  • Weight: ~45 g (1.6 oz)

3. Key Features

  • Extended program storage: More space for teach pendant jobs, logic, and I/O mapping

  • Non‑volatile: Retains data without battery backup (CMOS)

  • System expansion: Up to 32 modules can be stacked in the XRC backplane

  • I/O memory: 8192 bytes each for input/output addressing

4. Installation

  1. Power off the XRC controller and wait ≥5 minutes for capacitors to discharge.

  2. Use an anti‑static wristband.

  3. Locate an empty slot on the CPU rack (JZNC‑XRK01B).

  4. Insert the XMM01 board, secure with screws, and reconnect the internal bus cable.

  5. Power on and verify memory size via the teach pendant.

5. Compatibility & Notes

  • Fits: XRC1000, XRC2001 (XRC series only)

  • Requires: XRC CPU board JANCD‑XCP01

  • Not for: DX200, DX100, or newer controllers (different memory architecture)

  • Common issue: Data loss if the board is improperly seated or backplane voltage is unstable

6. LED Indicators

  • PWR (green): 24 VDC power OK

  • RDY (green): Memory initialized and ready

  • ALM (red): Memory error, data corruption, or bus fault
