JANCD-XCPO1C

JANCD-XCP01C-1 is the main CPU control board designed for Motoman XRC series robot controllers including XRC1000 and XRC2001. It works as the core control unit to realize robot motion calculation, user program operation, system logic management and internal bus coordination with all peripheral boards installed on cabinet backplane. This board can be mounted on slot 0 of JANCD-XBB01 or JANCD-XBB02 backplane directly, and it supports matching expansion daughter cards for Ethernet communication and memory upgrade.

Description

1. General Description

2. Technical Specifications

2.1 Core and Memory

The board is equipped with 66MHz Motorola XPC105 processor. It has 16MB DRAM for system runtime and program execution, plus 1MB SRAM which saves robot parameters and axis origin data protected by a 3V lithium backup battery against data loss after power off. A CompactFlash slot is set on front panel for program backup and system restoration, and the maximum compatible storage capacity reaches 2GB.

2.2 Electrical Features

Rated input power is 24VDC with ten percent upper and lower tolerance range, supplied from cabinet backplane. Typical operating current consumption is about 2.5 amperes. Onboard protective circuits cover overcurrent, overvoltage and overheat conditions to prevent chip damage under abnormal power supply.

2.3 Interface Definition

CN1 receives 24VDC power input from backplane. CN2 connects with slot 0 of backplane to complete high-speed data exchange between main CPU and other functional boards inside the cabinet. CN3 is RJ45 Ethernet port cooperating with XIF03 daughter card, supporting 10/100Mbps transmission speed, TCP/IP and Modbus TCP communication protocols. CN4 is DB9 RS232C serial port used for equipment debugging and offline program uploading or downloading. An independent battery holder is reserved on PCB for installing backup lithium battery.

2.4 Physical and Environmental Conditions

Overall dimension of the board is 260mm by 200mm by 50mm and net weight is around 0.8 kilogram. Working ambient temperature ranges from zero degree Celsius to fifty-five degree Celsius, while storage temperature varies from minus twenty degree Celsius to sixty degree Celsius. Applicable relative humidity is between five percent and eighty percent without condensation. The product can withstand vibration lower than 0.5G within frequency scope from 10Hz to 500Hz.

3. LED Indicator Explanation

Green PWR indicator keeps steady lighting when 24VDC input works normally. Green RUN lamp flickers continuously during normal CPU operation and user program running. Red ALM indicator turns on once hardware fault, system error or abnormal bus connection happens. Yellow COM light blinks when Ethernet or serial port is transmitting or receiving data.

4. Compatibility Information

This CPU board fits standard and extended XRC control cabinets. Matching backplane includes JANCD-XBB01 and JANCD-XBB02 and installation position is fixed on slot 0 only. It can be directly replaced by upgraded JANCD-XCP01B-1 without any wiring modification, and factory authorized replacement part number is 142154-3R. It supports installation of XIF03 Ethernet daughter card and XMM01 memory expansion daughter card.

5. Installation Procedures

Cut off the total power supply of control cabinet before replacement work and wait no less than five minutes for residual electric charge releasing from internal capacitors. Operators need to wear anti-static wristband all the time to avoid electrostatic damage to precise electronic components. Unplug all external cables including network wire, serial line and power connector from original board, then take out old PCB. Align new XCP01C-1 board and insert into slot 0 of backplane before fastening fixed screws. Reconnect all separated connectors sequentially and restore cabinet power. After power is switched on, confirm working state according to indicator status, PWR stays on, RUN flickers normally and ALM keeps off.

6. Daily Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Replace backup lithium battery every two to three years to avoid parameter and program missing caused by insufficient battery voltage. Remove dust on PCB surface every year with low-pressure dry compressed air and check all connectors for oxidation and loose connection.
If ALM remains lit and RUN never blinks, check 24V power supply at CN1 position, reinsert the board tightly into backplane slot and test battery condition for replacement if needed. When Ethernet communication breaks down, check network cable integrity and reinstall matched Ethernet daughter card. In case of user program loss after power restart, change backup battery and recover data from CompactFlash backup files.

7. Order and Warranty Information

Official part number is JANCD-XCP01C-1 and it is manufactured by Yaskawa Electric Motoman Robotics Division. Brand new products enjoy twelve months warranty under standard industrial operating environment.

8. Safety Warnings

Only certified professional maintenance technicians are allowed to perform installation, replacement and repair operations. Disconnect power source in advance before any maintenance to prevent electric shock and unexpected equipment damage. Never modify original circuit layout or replace internal parts with non-standard accessories arbitrarily. Manufacturer takes no responsibility for equipment damage resulting from improper operation or unauthorized circuit alteration.
