JANCD-XCP01C

JANCD-XCP01C-1 serves as the main CPU control board for Motoman XRC series robot controllers including XRC1000 and XRC2001 models. It is a mid-version upgrade between XCP01 and XCP01B, tasked with robot motion calculation, running user programs, system logic control and internal bus scheduling. Equipped with Motorola XPC105 processor, this mainboard allows matching daughter cards for Ethernet communication and memory expansion. It is designed to install directly into slot 0 of JANCD-XBB01 or JANCD-XBB02 backplane with no cabinet wiring modification needed.

Description

1. General Description

2. Technical Specifications

2.1 Core and Memory

The built-in processor operates at 66MHz frequency. Total 16MB DRAM is prepared for real-time system and program operation, while 1MB SRAM stores robot parameters and origin data protected by a 3V lithium backup battery to preserve data after power cut. A CompactFlash slot on front panel supports program backup and system recovery, with maximum compatible storage up to 2GB.

2.2 Electrical Parameter

Standard input power is 24VDC with allowable fluctuation of plus and minus ten percent, supplied from cabinet backplane. Typical working current is around 2.5A. Onboard protection circuits against overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating protect core chips from unexpected power faults.

2.3 Connector Definition

CN1 receives 24VDC power input from backplane. CN2 connects to backplane slot 0 to realize data transmission between CPU and other functional boards inside cabinet. CN3 is RJ45 Ethernet interface working with XIF03 daughter card, supporting 10/100Mbps network speed, TCP/IP and Modbus TCP communication protocols. CN4 is DB9-type RS232C serial port for equipment debugging and offline data upload or download. An independent battery holder is reserved on PCB for backup lithium battery mounting.

2.4 Physical and Environment

Product dimension is 260mm by 200mm by 50mm and net weight is approximately 0.8kg. Working ambient temperature ranges from 0 degree Celsius to 55 degree Celsius, storage temperature covers minus 20 degree Celsius to 60 degree Celsius. Applicable humidity is between 5 percent and 80 percent relative humidity under non-condensing condition. It can resist vibration below 0.5G within frequency range from 10Hz to 500Hz.

3. LED Indicator Instruction

Green PWR indicator stays on steadily when 24VDC input is normal. Green RUN light keeps flickering during normal CPU operation and program running. Red ALM turns on once hardware breakdown, system error or abnormal bus connection occurs. Yellow COM blinks continuously while Ethernet port transmits or receives data.

4. Compatibility

This board is applicable for standard and extended XRC control cabinets. Matched backplane includes JANCD-XBB01 and JANCD-XBB02, and installation position is fixed at slot 0 only. It can be directly substituted by upgraded JANCD-XCP01B-1 without wiring change, and factory designated replacement part code is 142154-3R. The mainboard supports assembling XIF03 Ethernet daughter card and XMM01 memory expansion daughter card.

5. Installation Steps

Cut off total power supply of control cabinet before replacement work and wait at least five minutes for capacitor residual electricity release. Wear anti-static wristband all the time to avoid electrostatic damage to precise electronic components. Unplug all external cables including network line, serial wire and power connector from original CPU board, then take out old circuit board. Align new XCP01C-1 board and insert into slot 0 of backplane before fastening fixing screws. Reconnect all separated connectors sequentially and restore cabinet power supply. After power on, confirm working status via indicators: PWR remains lit, RUN flickers normally and ALM keeps off.

6. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Replace backup lithium battery every two to three years to avoid loss of parameters and user programs caused by battery depletion. Clear accumulated dust on circuit board yearly with low-pressure dry compressed air and check connectors for oxidation or loose contact.
When ALM keeps lighting and RUN does not blink, inspect 24V power supply at CN1, reinsert board tightly into backplane slot and test battery voltage for replacement if needed. For Ethernet communication failure, check network cable integrity and reinstall matching Ethernet daughter card. If user programs disappear after power restart, change backup battery and restore data from CompactFlash backup files.

7. Order and Warranty

Official part number is JANCD-XCP01C-1, manufactured by Yaskawa Electric Motoman Robotics Division. Brand new items enjoy twelve months warranty under standard industrial operating environment.

8. Safety Notice

Only qualified professional maintenance personnel are allowed to conduct installation, replacement and repair operations. Do not modify original circuit structure or replace internal parts with non-specified accessories arbitrarily. Disconnect power source before any maintenance operation to prevent electric shock and equipment damage. Manufacturer takes no responsibility for losses caused by improper operation or unauthorized board modification.
